Although cesarean section is not a recommended method of delivery, it is a relatively suitable method of pregnancy for some people with abnormal fetal position or too large fetus. Of course, cesarean section will leave certain scars on the abdomen. If the scars are not well cared for after the cesarean section, it will cause suppuration. So, what should we do if the cesarean section scar becomes festered? This will be introduced below! 1. Causes of wound suppuration Wound suppuration is a pathological change caused by the infection of damaged wounds or tissues by bacteria. 70% of the infections are directly caused by Streptococcus pyogenes. Through Gram staining, Streptococcus pyogenes can be divided into Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria. Gram-positive bacteria include Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, etc., and Gram-negative bacteria include Neisseria, Moraxella (Branhamella catarrhalis), Pseudomonas, Escherichia, Proteus, non-spore-forming anaerobic bacteria (such as Bacteroides), etc. 2. The harm of wound suppuration The most harmful is the Gram-positive bacteria - Staphylococcus aureus. This bacteria multiplies rapidly after entering the wound, and releases a hyaluronidase to digest the subcutaneous tissue to provide itself with nutrients. At the same time, the body's immune system also begins to respond to resist the invasion of pathogenic bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus. The number of white blood cells with phagocytic ability in the blood increases rapidly, and they swim out of the blood vessels, penetrate into the wound site and devour the germs. At the same time, they release some enzymes to digest the tissues that have been destroyed by the germs. The body inhibits the further spread of the germs by regulating resistance, while confining them to the purulent site and gradually eliminating them. 3. Treatment of suppuration caused by trauma Method 1: Remove the scab from the pus-containing part, wipe out the pus with a cotton swab, clean it with hydrogen peroxide, and then disinfect it with iodine and alcohol. Then cover it with yellow sand strips (that is, sand strips soaked in Laforet) and wrap it up. Started out once a day, then every other day. When there are no bubbles after washing with hydrogen peroxide, you can use oxytetracycline or sulfamethoxazole tablets, grind them into powder and sprinkle them on the surface and wrap it. It is very effective. There is redness and swelling around the wound. You can take clindamycin hydrochloride capsules or Yushangling capsules orally. It will get better slowly. Method 2: If the wound is not seriously festering, you can also apply some mercurochrome and disinfectant. The prerequisite is that you must first treat the wound and clean the pus. Method 3: Salt can also be used to treat festering wounds. Add ginger and salt into boiling water, wrap the festering wound with gauze, and steam the wound in the boiling water with salt until the water becomes no longer hot. This method is the simplest steam method, which is clean and convenient and usually lasts about 5 minutes. Method 4: If a small wound becomes festered, you can use a clean band-aid after treating the wound. Be sure to change the medicine regularly to prevent infection. |
