Pelvic inflammatory disease surgery

Pelvic inflammatory disease surgery

Pelvic inflammatory disease is a common inflammation among women and is also a disease that can greatly threaten the patient's health. Pelvic inflammatory disease is usually treated with medication. If it is more serious, it needs to be treated with surgery. There are also certain precautions for pelvic inflammatory disease surgery. Next, I will introduce you to the relevant knowledge about pelvic inflammatory disease surgery!

1. What kind of pelvic inflammatory disease requires surgery

Pelvic inflammatory disease is an inflammation. Ordinary people may think that inflammation can be treated with anti-inflammatory drugs. Why do we need surgery? Generally speaking, there are three situations in which surgery is necessary. Even if you have a fever and stomachache, you have to have surgery. What is the first situation? That is to say, we have used some better antibiotics in a very standardized manner, and even used top-level antibiotics. As a result, after treatment, an abscess lump is formed and it does not go away for 48 hours, two days, or three days, or it keeps getting bigger. In this case, surgery is necessary, which means that the medication can no longer suppress it. This is one situation. In the second case, the symptoms improve after taking the medicine, but after two or three days, the symptoms still persist. This abscess in the pelvic cavity is like a time bomb, and it may not go away. In that case, treatment is also required. The third is that if the abscess ruptures, the patient will suffer from infectious toxic shock, in which case surgery is necessary. In this case, you cannot delay any longer, as delaying may lead to bigger problems. These are the three situations in which surgery is required.

2. Causes of pelvic inflammatory disease

The main cause of pelvic inflammatory disease is the transmission of some diseases. In daily life, we must pay attention to some details in time to avoid the occurrence of pelvic inflammatory disease. Under normal circumstances, secretions enable the vagina to have self-cleaning and defense functions, but excessive flushing changes the acidity and alkalinity of the vagina, which in turn provides convenience for the reproduction of pathogens.

After delivery, the mother is weak, the cervix fails to close in time due to lochia discharge, there is a detached surface of the placenta in the uterine cavity, or the birth canal is damaged during delivery, or there are residual placenta and fetal membranes, or if she has sexual intercourse too early after delivery, pathogens invade the uterine cavity and easily cause infection; post-abortion infection can occur if vaginal bleeding lasts too long during spontaneous abortion or medical abortion, or there is tissue residue in the uterine cavity, or the aseptic operation of the artificial abortion is not strict, etc.

3. Precautions for pelvic inflammatory disease surgery

1. Eliminate all kinds of infection routes: keep the vulva clean and dry, wash the vulva with clean water every night, and use a dedicated basin for each person. During pelvic inflammatory disease, the amount of leucorrhea is large and sticky, so you should change your underwear frequently and avoid wearing tight or synthetic underwear.

2. Avoid sexual intercourse during menstruation: During menstruation, after abortion, and after gynecological surgery such as insertion or removal of an IUD, if there is bleeding, you must refrain from sexual intercourse, swimming, taking a tub bath, or sauna. Change sanitary napkins frequently to prevent bacteria from entering the body and causing infection.

3. Active treatment: Patients with pelvic inflammatory disease must receive active treatment. You should rest in bed or take a semi-recumbent position to facilitate localization of inflammation and discharge of secretions. Patients with chronic pelvic inflammatory disease should not overwork, and should combine work and rest, and exercise in moderation to avoid worsening of symptoms.

4. Keep warm: Fever patients usually sweat a lot when the fever subsides. Keep warm and dry. Change clothes after sweating and avoid air conditioning or direct convection wind.

5. Closely observe the leucorrhea: pay attention to the quantity, quality, color and taste of the leucorrhea. If the amount of leucorrhea is large, the color is yellow and thick, and there is a foul odor, it means that the condition is serious. If the leucorrhea turns from yellow to white, the amount changes from large to small, and the smell becomes normal, it means that the condition has improved.
