Is polycystic ovary syndrome easy to treat?

The incidence of polycystic ovary syndrome has been increasing year by year in recent years, and it has become a serious disease that endangers the fertility of modern women. After suffering from polycystic ovary syndrome, female friends must maintain a happy mood, which can greatly increase the possibility of cure. Moreover, the treatment time required for polycystic ovary syndrome is very long. But is PCOS easily treatable?

Common treatments for PCOS:

1. Medication

Currently, drug treatment for PCOS has replaced surgical treatment as the first-line treatment method, and the purpose of treatment is mainly related to the patient's fertility requirements.

(1) Oral contraceptive pills (OCPs) have been used as a traditional long-term treatment for women with PCOS. They are mainly used to protect the endometrium, regulate the menstrual cycle, and improve hirsutism and/or acne by reducing androgen production in the ovaries.

(2) Clomiphene (CC) Clomiphene ovulation induction treatment. CC has become the drug of choice for ovulation induction treatment of PCOS. CC can bind to the hypothalamic estrogen receptors, blocking the central nervous system's response to circulating estrogen levels, increasing the secretion of pulsatile GnRH and gonadotropin, and further causing follicle growth and development.

2. General treatment

Actively exercise in daily life, reduce the intake of high-fat and high-sugar foods, and lose weight. This can cause the androgen level to drop, which is beneficial for restoring ovulation.

3. Laparoscopic surgery

If the above two methods are not effective, laparoscopic surgery should be considered. Under laparoscopy, the follicles are punctured to reduce the androgen level, thus achieving the therapeutic goal.

Warm reminder: When using drug treatment, if the male hormone level has reached the standard, the drug treatment should be stopped immediately. Polycystic ovary syndrome is a complex gynecological disease. Patients should maintain a happy mood during the treatment and do not worry about not being able to be cured. It is best to detect and treat it early.
