When is the last pregnancy?

Nowadays, many couples have been unable to conceive for many years after marriage, so they choose to increase the efficiency of pregnancy through artificial methods. Now that medicine is becoming more and more advanced, it has achieved a good basic effect in solving infertility problems. However, while conducting auxiliary examinations and treatments, do not forget to understand clearly when the last pregnancy was, and see what regular arrangements and calculations there are, so that you can better cooperate with the treatment.

Calculation of last menstrual period:

1. Patients undergoing fresh embryo transfer:

The 14 days before egg retrieval is equivalent to the last menstrual period in a normal pregnancy (for example, if the egg retrieval is on January 20, the last menstrual period can be calculated as January 6).

2. Patients undergoing frozen embryo transfer:

If the embryos to be transferred are ordinary frozen embryos, the 17th day before the transfer date should be the last menstrual period of a normal pregnancy (e.g. if the transfer is on January 20, the last menstrual period can be calculated as January 3);

If the transferred embryo is a blastocyst, the 19 days before the transfer date should be the last menstrual period of a normal pregnancy (for example, if the transfer is on January 20, the last menstrual period can be calculated as January 1).

3. Patients undergoing artificial insemination: 14 days before the artificial insemination surgery should correspond to the last menstrual period in a normal pregnancy (e.g. if the surgery is performed on January 20, the last menstrual period can be calculated as January 6).

Calculation of expected date of delivery:

Add 9 or subtract 3 from the month of the last menstrual period to get the month of the expected delivery date; add 7 to the day of the last menstrual period to get the day of the expected delivery date (note that if the number obtained by adding the number of days to 7 exceeds the maximum number of days in the previously calculated month, it is necessary to convert it again based on the number of days in the current month. For example, if the final number is April 33, it should be converted to May 3).

For example:

Ms. Zhang's last menstrual period was March 13, 2015, and her due date is approximately December 20, 2015;

Ms. Li’s last menstrual period was on May 28, 2015, and her due date is approximately March 6, 2016.

Pregnant women can also calculate backwards from the first day of the last menstrual period to the 280th day, which is the expected date of delivery.
