What to do if a pregnant woman has slow dilation

If pregnant women have slow cervical dilation before delivery, they will become very anxious and the pain will become very intense and especially irregular. This is why they need to adjust their mood. The greater the mood swings, the more unfavorable it is for delivery. They should try to stabilize their emotions and supplement some nutrients appropriately. This will prevent them from going into shock during delivery and give them more physical strength.

Method 1: Choose the right age for childbirth

Giving birth at the age of 35 is considered as an advanced primipara. As you get older. The risks of pregnancy and childbirth are increased.

Firstly, when the mother is too old, the joints of the birth canal, perineum and pelvis become hardened and difficult to expand. The contraction force of the uterus and the stretch force of the vagina are also poor, which may prolong the delivery time and make dystocia more likely to occur. Secondly, the older the pregnant woman is, the greater the chance of developing complications such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease, and therefore the greater the chance of not being able to give birth naturally and requiring a cesarean section.

Most medical experts believe that the best age for women to have children is around 25 to 29 years old, and women in this age group are more likely to have a natural birth.

Method 2: Proper nutrition and weight control during pregnancy

If the baby's weight exceeds 4000 grams (medically known as macrosomia), the mother's rate of dystocia will greatly increase. If the doctor predicts during the prenatal examination that the fetus weighs more than 4000 grams, it will generally be recommended that the mother deliver the baby by cesarean section.

A normal-sized fetus can be delivered smoothly through a normal pelvis, but a macrosomia has a relatively large head, and the fetal head may become "stranded" at the entrance of the pelvis, making it difficult to pass through the pelvis and necessitating a cesarean section. If the giant baby is fat, although it can barely pass through the pelvis, it will take a lot of effort for the mother to give birth, and in the end she may have to use forceps or a vacuum extractor to help deliver the fetus. If the fetus has too much fat in the shoulders and the shoulders are particularly broad, shoulder dystocia may occur.

The birth of macrosomia is related to excessive nutritional supplements, excessive fat intake and lack of physical exercise in pregnant women. If a pregnant woman suffers from diabetes, the blood sugar level of the fetus will continue to rise and stimulate the fetal pancreas to secrete excessive insulin. This will inevitably cause excessive accumulation of fat, protein and glycogen in the fetus, causing the fetus to grow large and obese.

Gymnastics during pregnancy

In order to control the weight of the newborn, pregnant women should participate in appropriate activities during pregnancy and avoid sitting or lying down all day. Eat more fresh vegetables and protein-rich foods, and less foods high in carbohydrates and fat, such as desserts, fried foods, sweet drinks, fruits, etc. The ideal pregnancy weight is to increase by 2 kg within 3 months of early pregnancy, 5 kg each in the 3-6 months of mid-pregnancy or the 7-9 months of late pregnancy, for a total of about 12 kg. If you gain more than 20 kilograms during pregnancy, your baby may grow too large.
