Reasons for late menstruation

Reasons for late menstruation

If you haven't had your period for a long time, it depends on how long the delay is. If the delay is less than 7 days, it is normal. If it exceeds 7 days, it is abnormal. If you have regular sex, pregnancy cannot be ruled out. Gynecological inflammation, hormonal changes in the body, and the effects of medication, etc. may all cause your period to come suddenly and late. As a girl, you should also carefully observe your body's health.

Causes of delayed menstruation:

Pregnancy: If menstruation is delayed, do a urine pregnancy test. If it is positive, you are pregnant.

Drugs: Taking progestin-containing drugs, such as progesterone, emergency contraceptive pills, etc., can cause delayed menstruation. Newer generation gastrokinetic drugs may also cause delayed menstruation.

Surgery: If uterine surgery causes adhesion of the uterine cavity or cervix, it will make it impossible to produce or discharge menstrual blood, and there will be no menstruation.

Endocrine disorders: Obesity, excessive dieting, irregular living habits, premature ovarian failure, polycystic ovary syndrome, etc. can all cause delayed menstruation.
