Lochia becomes lighter and then bright red again

Lochia becomes lighter and then bright red again

The type of lochia discharge is different in each period after delivery, so the form of lochia discharge is also different. There are two specific types of lochia: bloody lochia and serous lochia. By observing the color of lochia, the mother can effectively infer which stage of lochia elimination is in her body. So if a woman finds that the color of lochia gradually becomes lighter and then gradually becomes bright red, is it normal?

If the lochia becomes lighter and then red blood appears again after delivery, it may be a symptom of the first menstruation, but it may also be a phenomenon of retained lochia. There are many reasons for the occurrence of bloody lochia, and it may be caused by the incomplete recovery of the uterus. You need to go to a regular hospital for gynecological examination and treatment. The possibility of it being caused by retained lochia is relatively high.

Of course, it may also be caused by gynecological inflammation. It is best to have the secretions tested and make a clear diagnosis after relevant gynecological examinations. Targeted treatment methods can be made based on the results of the examination. Do not blindly use some antibacterial drugs for treatment.

In the first few days after delivery, the amount of lochia is relatively large, and the color is bright red, which is called lochia, also known as bloody lochia. It usually lasts for three to seven days. After three to five days, the amount of blood will slowly decrease, and the color of the lochia will turn light red, which is called serous lochia. Ten to fourteen days after delivery, the color of the lochia will be white or light yellow, which is called alba lochia.

Why is there red blood again after the lochia is clear? The lochia phenomenon of women after childbirth is different. When red blood appears again after the lochia is clear, it may be caused by the factor of bloody lochia. It is best to go to the hospital to check the recovery of the uterus and test the secretions, and then treat it after the diagnosis is confirmed.

Why does the lochia become lighter and fresh red blood comes out again? It is normal for women to have lochia after childbirth. When fresh blood appears again after the lochia is cleared, it may be caused by incomplete leakage of lochia or infection. Everyone must remember to go to the hospital to check the recovery of the body 42 days after delivery, and do not take medicine on your own without knowing the situation.
