How does ectopic pregnancy occur?

The reason why women have ectopic pregnancy is closely related to the condition of their uterus, because the position of each woman's uterus in the body is different. For those women whose uterus is relatively backward, they are not only prone to abdominal pain during menstruation, but also particularly prone to ectopic pregnancy, because the discharged egg and the entering sperm will not enter the uterus to combine into a fertilized egg. So how does ectopic pregnancy cause it?

As we all know, the development of the fetus generally takes place in the uterus, where it obtains the nutrients needed for growth and development from the mother through the umbilical cord. However, there are always some accidents in the world, and that is ectopic pregnancy. So, what exactly is ectopic pregnancy? Let us give you some scientific information about the possible causes of ectopic pregnancy.

Fallopian tube inflammation

The first cause of ectopic pregnancy is possible inflammation of the pregnant woman's fallopian tubes. Fallopian tube inflammation can be divided into fallopian tube mucositis and fallopian tube peri-inflammation, both of which are common causes of fallopian tube pregnancy. Severe cases of fallopian tube mucositis can cause complete blockage of the tubal lumen and lead to infertility. The lesions of perisalpingitis are mainly in the serosa or seromuscular layer of the fallopian tube, which often causes adhesions around the fallopian tube, twisting of the fallopian tube, stenosis of the tubal lumen, and weakened peristalsis of the tubal wall muscles, affecting the movement of the fertilized egg.

History of tubal pregnancy

The second reason for ectopic pregnancy is that the pregnant woman may have a history of fallopian tube pregnancy. Women who have had a tubal pregnancy are more likely to have another tubal pregnancy after recovering from surgical treatment.

Insertion of an intrauterine device

The third cause of ectopic pregnancy is that the pregnant woman may be wearing an intrauterine device. The use of an IUD itself does not increase the incidence of ectopic pregnancy, but if a woman becomes pregnant due to IUD contraceptive failure, the chance of an ectopic pregnancy is greater.

Fallopian tube dysplasia or dysfunction

The fourth cause of ectopic pregnancy is the poor development or abnormal function of the pregnant woman's fallopian tubes. Tubal dysplasia is often manifested by excessively long fallopian tubes, poor development of the muscular layer, and lack of mucociliary tissue. The function of the fallopian tube is regulated by estrogen and progesterone. If the regulation fails, it will affect the normal operation of the fertilized egg.

Fertilized egg wandering

The fifth cause of ectopic pregnancy is the wandering fertilized egg. When the egg is fertilized in one fallopian tube and enters the opposite fallopian tube through the uterine cavity or abdominal cavity, it is called fertilized egg migration. If the migration time is too long, the fertilized egg will grow larger and can implant in the opposite fallopian tube and form a tubal pregnancy.

As we all know, the consequences of ectopic pregnancy are quite serious. It may cause the pregnant woman to bleed heavily during pregnancy and lose her life, or lose the chance of pregnancy forever. These are not the results that everyone expects. Therefore, pregnant women should undergo prenatal examinations in a timely manner, have regular checkups during pregnancy, and listen carefully to what the doctor says. I hope everyone can give birth safely.
