Loose cervix and dilated cervix are two different concepts. If the cervix is dilated, it means that pregnant women are about to give birth. At this time, they must go to the hospital to protect the fetus and wait for the cervix to fully dilate before giving birth. Generally, it only takes one night for the cervix to fully dilate, but everyone's physical condition is completely different, and the specific time of cervical dilation varies from person to person. 1. After the fetus enters the pelvis, the birth canal is prepared and the mother's vagina will naturally relax and open. 2. The doctor can observe the degree of dilation of the cervix. 3. The doctor can also use digital examination to explore the condition of the cervix. Usually an anal or vaginal examination is done. The doctor, wearing sterile gloves, inserts a finger into the vagina, places the finger on the opening of the uterus, and uses the finger to measure the opening of the uterus. Anal examination is only done when delivery is imminent, because the vagina is not far from the cervical opening, with a relatively thin peritoneum in the middle. Anal examination is used to detect the opening of the cervical opening through this place. Regardless of whether the cervix is dilated or not before delivery, repeated vaginal exploration will cause iatrogenic infection, so digital rectal examination is used to make the diagnosis. Uterine fundus descent A few weeks before delivery, as the fetal head enters the pelvis, pregnant women will feel a little more relaxed in their upper abdomen, and their breathing and appetite will also improve significantly, but they will urinate more frequently and walking will not be very comfortable. This is the reason for the descent of the uterine fundus. Uterine contractions A few days before delivery, pregnant women will feel their abdomen hardening, which may be accompanied by a slight feeling of heaviness. This is the contraction of the uterus. The uterine contractions at this time are often short-lived, with varying intervals, often occurring at night and disappearing in the early morning, and the cervix will not dilate. The vast majority of pregnant women give birth within two weeks before or after the due date. When you have regular abdominal pain, and the intervals between pains become shorter and shorter, and the pain duration becomes longer, it indicates that delivery is imminent. Seeing red 24 to 48 hours before delivery, a small amount of bloody mucus is discharged from the vagina, which is called "bloody show", or water rupture, that is, the amniotic sac in the uterus ruptures and the amniotic fluid flows out. It is also a reliable sign of labor. Spotting may last for a few days, with a small amount of discharge each day; or it may occur suddenly. If the amount of spotting is heavy and exceeds the normal menstrual volume, you should go to the hospital and contact the doctor or midwife in time. |
