Bleeding in early pregnancy

Bleeding in early pregnancy

The most obvious symptom of female pregnancy is the cessation of menstruation, so most women who remember their menstrual cycles can accurately determine whether they are pregnant when their menstruation is late. Some women may misjudge their pregnancy in the early stages because of the physical symptoms they experience. The amount of bleeding in the early stages of pregnancy may be as heavy as menstruation, which may cause women to misunderstand that they are not pregnant. There may be other reasons for this situation. Let’s find out.

1. Is it normal to have bleeding like menstruation in early pregnancy?

1. It is possible that small blood vessels will be damaged during embryo implantation, but this situation can be saved. It may also be an early sign of ectopic pregnancy, which should be diagnosed and treated as soon as possible.

2. Shortly after conception, such as within 2 weeks of fertilization, it is not easy to identify. First of all, the blood HCG and progesterone levels are not high during that period. When the blood HCG is lower than 1500-2000 IU, it cannot be seen by B-ultrasound, so we can only observe it first.

3. Three weeks after fertilization, the embryo enters a period of rapid development after implantation. Blood HCG will obviously double and progesterone will be above 25-30ng/ml. At this time, the cause can be found based on the dynamic changes of blood indicators and B-ultrasound. When the blood HCG rises to above 1500 IU, vaginal B-ultrasound can be used to find the shadow of the embryo. When the blood HCG rises to above 2000 IU, the gestational sac can be found through abdominal B-ultrasound.

4. For bleeding 3 weeks after fertilization, in addition to using B-ultrasound to find the cause, you can also dynamically observe the changes in blood HCG and progesterone. Usually, a review is required every 3 days or so. If HCG drops rapidly after vaginal bleeding, it usually indicates that the embryo has already flowed out or has died. If the blood HCG rises slowly, it may be intrauterine embryonic maldevelopment or ectopic pregnancy.

2. What to do if bleeding in early pregnancy is as heavy as menstrual period

1. Reduce activities (this does not mean you have to stay in bed all the time).

2. Look carefully at what falls out, and keep any flesh-like tissue for the doctor to see.

3. If you have obvious abdominal pain, or bleeding similar to menstrual flow, or dizziness, you should go to the emergency room to avoid ectopic pregnancy and internal bleeding that may delay rescue.

4. If you do not have the above symptoms (abdominal pain, excessive bleeding, dizziness, etc.). Regular blood tests for progesterone, blood HCG and B-ultrasound are required, usually at least once every 3 days.

After the introduction of the above content, I believe everyone has a certain understanding of bleeding in early pregnancy. Generally speaking, there will be no menstrual bleeding after pregnancy. Most of the time, you need to go to the hospital for treatment. Mothers should attach great importance to their bleeding and go to the hospital for relevant examinations to ensure that there is nothing wrong. I hope the mother and child are safe.
