1. Causes of infection: bacteria and viruses infect the digestive tract. This is the most common reason. The most common pathogens causing infection are Salmonella, Shigella dysenteriae, Campylobacter and viruses. Food poisoning or viral infections in other parts of the body can also cause diarrhea in pregnant women.

2. Dietary reasons: eating rough, spoiled food and bad eating habits, or caused by food allergies such as seafood.

3. Causes of combined other chronic diseases: such as thyroid disease, tuberculosis, colitis, etc.

4. Milk powder for pregnant women: The stomachs of some pregnant women are not adapted to milk powder, and they will have diarrhea after drinking it. If this is the case, the problem can be solved by simply stopping drinking milk powder.

What to do if you always have diarrhea in early pregnancy

First, replenish fluids appropriately to make up for the water and electrolytes lost due to diarrhea, especially potassium ions, and to replenish the calories lost due to diarrhea.

Secondly, closely observe the fetal condition to see if there are any signs of premature birth or miscarriage.

In addition, pay special attention when taking medication. Pregnant women should use antibiotics under the guidance of a doctor and not use them at will. These drugs should be prohibited in the first three months of pregnancy. For example, some milder anti-diarrhea agents, such as kaolin and pectin, can be used. These drugs can absorb water and reduce intestinal motility.

(1) In the early stages of the disease, it is generally appropriate to eat light liquid foods, such as thick rice soup, light fruit juice, noodles, and soup. During the acute watery diarrhea stage, temporary fasting is required, and those who are excessively dehydrated may also require intravenous therapy.

(2) After the frequency of bowel movements decreases, you can eat liquid foods such as broth, milk, soy milk, egg drop soup, vegetable juice, etc. with less oil. Later, you can gradually eat light, low-oil, low-residue beef liquid diet, such as rice porridge, lotus root powder, noodles, etc.

(3) You can eat foods containing protein and a small amount of fat, such as milk, eggs, soy milk, tofu, or starchy foods, such as potatoes, taro, rice, noodles, etc.

(4) You should eat foods rich in vitamin C every day, such as fresh mushrooms, vegetable juice, and tomato juice. If conditions permit, you can use fruit juice fortified with vitamin C.
