Is pelvic floor rehabilitation useful for uterine prolapse?

Is pelvic floor rehabilitation useful for uterine prolapse?

Uterine prolapse is very harmful to women. It is an important cause of dysmenorrhea in women and is prone to avalanches. Especially for women after childbirth, the possibility of inducing uterine prolapse is relatively high. Once this happens, you must first actively go to the hospital for examination. Milder cases can be treated with conservative methods. In life, you can exercise through certain methods. Let us learn about this aspect.

Is pelvic floor rehabilitation useful for uterine prolapse?

1. Conservative treatment.

2. Pessary treatment is to use the pubococcygeus muscle bundle of the levator ani muscle to support the uterine tray in the vaginal vault, prevent the cervix from descending, maintain the cervix at the level of the sciatic muscle, and keep the handle level with the vaginal opening. For mild cases, no additional support is needed. If the vagina is too loose, a menstrual belt must be used to support the handle, or a belt or plastic rope must be passed through the upper end of the handle and fixed to the belt front and back to prevent it from falling out.

There are many treatment methods in daily life, such as:

1. Patients should pay attention to rest and avoid overwork. Patients should pay attention to improving nutrition, increasing exercise and improving physical fitness. The supporting function of the pessary is used to raise the prolapsed uterus, thereby improving blood circulation in the affected area and facilitating recovery.

2. Partial cervical resection. This method is suitable for young women who want to retain their reproductive function. Vaginal hysterectomy is suitable for older women with more serious conditions. Vaginal closure is suitable for the elderly, frail and sexually inactive people.

Causes of postpartum uterine prolapse

1. Using a corset after childbirth can cause the uterus to prolapse easily

Many women use a belly band to regain their figure after giving birth. Doctors say that except for caesarean sections, abdominal belts can be used for a few days depending on the situation. Generally, if mothers use them during the confinement period, it will increase the chances of urinary incontinence and uterine prolapse in the future.

The reason is simple: the belly after childbirth is like a loose balloon, and tying the waist and abdomen with a belly band is like tightening a round balloon with scattered force points into a long shape. In this way, the increased abdominal pressure will only cause the pelvic floor muscles that have not yet recovered to push downward more concentratedly, thereby increasing or aggravating the chance and severity of postpartum urinary incontinence and uterine prolapse.

2. Squatting for a long time after childbirth can easily lead to uterine prolapse

Avoid squatting for long periods of time. After giving birth, it takes about three months for the mother's pelvic floor muscles to recover. Therefore, during these three months, it is best for the mother to choose to sit or stand when doing things. Try to avoid squatting for long periods of time to prevent uterine prolapse.

Postpartum sexual life: Sexual life should be strictly prohibited within 42 days after delivery, and it is best to have it 2 months after delivery. Even two months after giving birth, the vagina is still very fragile, so be gentle or use some lubricant to prevent injury.

3. Rapid labor and delayed labor can easily lead to uterine prolapse

Anterior uterine prolapse is rarely found, but prevention should still be strengthened to further reduce the occurrence of this disease. The causes of postpartum uterine prolapse include premature delivery, that is, less than 3 hours from regular uterine contractions to fetal delivery. Because the pelvic floor tissue and vaginal muscles have not had time to undergo gradual expansion, they are compressed and torn by the sudden and powerful fetal head, and are not repaired in time, the pelvic floor support tissue fails to return to normal after delivery.
