Can moxibustion for uterine cold be done every day?

Patients with cold uterus often suffer from irregular menstruation. They suffer from extremely painful dysmenorrhea every time they have their period. Their leucorrhea and daily body secretions are more than those of ordinary people, and may even be different from those of other people. Patients with cold uterus should seek treatment as soon as possible to avoid affecting their future reproductive function. Moxibustion is necessary for cold uterus, but the techniques and methods of moxibustion must be mastered.

Can moxibustion for uterine cold be done every day?

Moxibustion for uterine cold should not be excessive, 4-5 times a week is enough, each time should not exceed 1 hour. Too long time will cause dry mouth, dry tongue, and even constipation. As for how long to do moxibustion for uterine cold, since everyone's physical condition and the severity of the disease are different, the time of moxibustion is also different. Generally speaking, the time is about 30 to 40 minutes, and the length of time can be adjusted according to the comfort level.

The principle of treating uterine cold is mostly to warm the uterus by warming the kidney and replenishing yang, and moxibustion mainly involves lighting moxa sticks and then fumigating the corresponding acupuncture points to penetrate the heat into the meridians. The medicinal effects travel along the meridians and play a role in warming the kidney and replenishing yang. Therefore, the effect of regulating uterine cold through moxibustion is very obvious.

The acupoints for moxibustion treatment of uterine cold include: Mingmen, Shenque, Guanyuan and uterus, Guilai on the back, Baliao on the waist, Zusanli and Sanyinjiao on the legs. Take a moxa stick or moxa wool and a moxibustion box, light the moxa stick and place it close to the skin of the moxibustion point, move it up and down, left and right to repeat the moxibustion until the skin feels moderate warmth. When moxibustion, please pay attention to concentrate your mind to avoid deviation from the position or burns.

Although moxibustion is very effective in treating uterine cold, it should not be done every day. Women should not do moxibustion during their period, including the five days before the period, on an empty stomach before meals, and after meals. When performing moxibustion, the moxa stick should be placed 3 cm away from the acupuncture point, so that the local area feels warm and red, but there is no burning sensation.
