How long after giving birth can I take supplements?

Postpartum women are relatively weak, and they also have to take on the task of breastfeeding their babies, so their nutritional needs are very high. People will give women good supplements after giving birth. However, it is not the case that you should take supplements right after giving birth, as that may harm the female body. Supplements should be taken after a period of time after giving birth. The following will introduce in detail how long after giving birth you can take supplements.

You can take supplementary food one week after delivery, but do not take supplementary food within one week. It is suitable to eat some liquid food that is easy to digest. When you go home and recuperate after giving birth, you can start to slowly eat some milk-inducing soups, such as crucian carp soup, chicken soup, pig's trotter soup, fermented glutinous rice eggs, papaya milk, etc., to help nourish the body and stimulate lactation. Then combine it with a variety of vegetables, fruits, meat, eggs, milk, etc. to ensure a balanced nutrition.

How to nourish after childbirth

If the milk secretion is insufficient after delivery, you can cook pig's trotter porridge: take one or two pig's trotters, three to five grams of tongcao, 10 to 15 grams of loulu, 60 grams of japonica rice, and two stalks of green onion. When using, first wash the pig's trotters, cut into small pieces and boil them to make a thick soup. Then, boil the juice of tongcao and loulu and remove the residue. Then, cook the pig's trotters and the medicinal juice with glutinous rice into porridge. When the porridge is almost done, add the scallion and cook for a while.

If you feel limb soreness and general fatigue after childbirth, you can cook yam and wolfberry porridge: take 60 grams of yam, 30 grams each of wolfberry, black sesame and walnut kernels, and an appropriate amount of millet. Mash the above four ingredients, add water and cook into porridge. Then add appropriate amount of brown sugar and take it once a day for four or five days.

The time period for postpartum tonic intake can start from the third week after the mother gives birth. It is not recommended to take tonic intake immediately in the first two weeks. The mother's body is still relatively weak in the first two weeks and needs a light diet. Wait until everything slowly recovers before taking some tonic intake, otherwise the body will not be able to absorb it.
