Ovarian cyst back pain

Ovarian cyst back pain

Ovarian cysts and lower back pain are common gynecological diseases, mainly occurring in women of childbearing age. Malignant cysts in the ovaries can cause the lumbar spine to twist, which can easily lead to nausea and loss of appetite in patients. Therefore, it is recommended that women should seek timely treatment when they develop ovarian cysts. Let us now understand whether ovarian cysts can cause lower back pain.

Ovarian cysts are very common and can occur in people of all ages, but are most common in those aged 20 to 50. Ovarian malignant cysts rarely have symptoms in the early stages of the disease, making early diagnosis difficult. 70% of patients are already in the late stages when they seek medical treatment, and early treatment is rarely available. The 5-year survival rate has always hovered around 20-30%, making it one of the most serious malignant cysts that threaten women's lives.

As the cyst grows larger, it may cause dull pain or swelling in the patient's lower abdomen or back. The cyst may also put pressure on the bladder, causing frequent or difficult urination. There is even a chance that the cyst may develop complications, become infected, become twisted, bleed, or burst. Therefore, ovarian cysts can cause lower back pain.

Are there any other symptoms of ovarian cysts?

1. Ovarian cysts have no obvious clinical manifestations in the early stages, and are often discovered during gynecological examinations when patients seek medical treatment for other diseases. Later, as the tumor grows, the patient will feel symptoms and signs that vary depending on the nature, size, development, and presence or absence of secondary degeneration or complications of the tumor.

2. The cyst may even develop complications, become infected, become twisted, bleed or burst. These symptoms may cause nausea, vomiting, fever and severe abdominal pain, and immediate surgery is required to remove the cyst. These cysts can occasionally become cancerous.

3. Apart from loss of appetite, weight loss and abdominal swelling, ovarian cancer usually has no symptoms in its early stages. In the later stages, there will be edema of the abdomen and limbs.

Women who suspect they have a disease should go to the hospital's gynecology department for a check-up in time and receive treatment under the doctor's guidance. They should not treat it on their own to avoid delaying or even aggravating the disease due to inappropriate medication. I hope the above introduction can be useful to you.
