The best time to check ovarian follicles by ultrasound

B-ultrasound is a relatively advanced medical technology, which is mainly used to check the development of follicles and fetus. Its examination value is relatively high, mainly because it can detect changes in organs in the body, which is very helpful in treating diseases. If you want to check the development of follicles through B-ultrasound, the best time to check is 10 days after menstruation, because at this time the ovulation period is about to begin and the follicles are at their best development.

1. Before menstruation: check for uterine malformation, intrauterine adhesion, etc.

For uterine malformations, intrauterine adhesions, etc., it is appropriate to schedule the examination before the menstrual period each month. The endometrium is thicker in the few days before menstruation, which makes it easier to observe the morphology and continuity of the endometrium and helps doctors make the best judgment.

2. The fifth day of menstruation: check for ovarian cysts, uterine cavity space-occupying lesions, cesarean section incision diverticulum, and endometrial lesions

Under B-ultrasound, many ovarian cysts and follicles appear similar and are difficult to distinguish. However, on the fifth day of menstruation, the follicles have not yet developed significantly, so this is the best time to check.

In addition, the fifth day of menstruation is not only suitable for the observation of ovarian cysts, but also for the observation of uterine cavity space-occupying lesions, cesarean section incision diverticula and endometrial lesions.

3. The tenth day of menstruation: monitoring follicles

For infertile patients, the most common examination is to monitor the ovarian follicles under B-ultrasound. It is generally recommended to start monitoring the ovarian follicles from around the tenth day of menstruation. At this time, ultrasound can observe the presence or absence of dominant follicles, as well as their morphology, quantity, growth and development, and ovulation, thereby guiding the patient to conceive. For some patients with shorter or longer menstrual cycles, the timing of monitoring can be appropriately advanced or delayed.

4. Avoid menstruation: check for uterine fibroids and adenomyosis

If it is a common disease such as uterine fibroids, adenomyosis, etc., there are no strict requirements for the menstrual cycle, and the examination can be avoided during the menstrual period. Women who want to have a gynecological B-ultrasound examination must choose the right time to get more accurate examination results.
