Will cervical erosion get worse during vaginal delivery?

Nowadays, many women who are about to give birth choose to give birth naturally. Because natural childbirth is not only beneficial to the recovery of women's bodies after giving birth, but is also better for the fetus's body. Fetuses born naturally are generally healthier. However, if the baby is delivered naturally, the fetus will directly hit the cervix during the birth process, so if the pregnant woman suffers from cervical erosion, she must be very careful. So, will cervical erosion get worse during a natural birth?

Natural childbirth can aggravate cervical erosion. During natural childbirth, the fetus passing through the soft birth canal will definitely cause impact on the cervix, but this is not the main factor that aggravates cervical erosion. Instead, daily sexual life is more harmful to the cervix. If there is severe cervical erosion, the doctor will need to carefully examine the soft birth canal and conduct an assessment when choosing the method of delivery.

Will cervical erosion get worse after childbirth?

Pregnancy itself will not cause cervical erosion, that is, childbirth itself is not the cause of cervical erosion, but childbirth causes cervical damage, which reduces the resistance of the cervix and makes it easy to be invaded by bacteria and cause cervical erosion. Vaginal immunity is relatively weak during pregnancy. If you have unclean sexual intercourse during this period, or have an improper abortion before pregnancy, it can easily lead to vaginal infection and cervical erosion. Cervical erosion cannot be ignored. In severe cases, it may lead to infertility and deterioration, so cervical erosion should be treated in time.

Most women will have varying degrees of cervical erosion after marriage. For example, some women already have cervical erosion but are unaware of it before pregnancy. After pregnancy, the increase in estrogen levels during pregnancy causes the cervical columnar epithelium to proliferate and migrate outward, forming pseudoerosion, which in turn aggravates the original cervical erosion.

Generally, women suffer from cervical erosion during breastfeeding. Experts do not recommend that you take medication here, because some drug ingredients are easily absorbed by the baby through breast milk at this time, which will have an adverse effect on the child's development. Therefore, women who have cervical erosion during breastfeeding should take appropriate treatment measures according to the degree of cervical erosion, and go to the hospital for a detailed examination after the breastfeeding period, so as to receive targeted and specific treatment.

Causes of cervical erosion

The causes of cervical erosion include mechanical stimulation or injury, such as sexual intercourse, miscarriage and delivery lacerations and bacterial invasion causing cervicitis. Pathogen invasion, commonly common pyogenic bacteria such as Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Gonorrhea, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, viruses, actinomycetes, Trichomonas, and Ameba can all cause cervicitis. The main causes of cervical erosion:

1. Sexual activity too early and too many sexual partners. Premarital sex is a common phenomenon among young people today. Premature sexual activity, frequent changes of sexual partners, and excessive sexual intensity (more than 4 times a week) are causes of cervical erosion that cannot be ignored.

2. Unclean sexual life. Since premarital sex is mostly kept secret, and young people do not have a stable source of income and cannot create a stable and clean sexual environment, the chances of getting sick are greatly increased.

3. Multiple artificial abortions. Multiple abortions, diagnostic curettage, cervical dilation and other gynecological surgeries caused by premarital sex may lead to cervical injury or inflammation, and ultimately cause cervical erosion.

4. Excessive vaginal cleaning. There are many female cleaning products on the market. If they are not chosen properly and a high concentration of disinfectant is used to flush the vagina, it will not only affect the growth of normal vaginal flora and reduce its ability to inhibit bacteria, but it will also cause varying degrees of cervical epithelial damage and eventually erosion.
