Why do I feel hot and cold during pregnancy?

Pregnancy is one of the most important events in a woman's life. Because after getting married, what women want most is to have a happy family. Children are the hope of the whole family, so having a healthy child is very important. But everyone's physical condition is different, so strange symptoms are likely to occur after pregnancy. Why do I feel hot and cold during pregnancy?

Will you feel hot and cold during early pregnancy?

It depends on the person, some people do. Generally speaking, the normal human body temperature is 36-37℃ (measured under the armpit). The body temperature of pregnant women will rise in the early stages of pregnancy, but after the second trimester (13 weeks of pregnancy), the body temperature will return to its original normal state.

In the early stages of pregnancy, the pregnant woman's body temperature is between 36.9℃-37.2℃. If this high temperature period lasts for more than 21 days and there are no other abnormal reactions, no menstruation, and even early pregnancy reactions, it can generally be considered a sign of pregnancy. If the body temperature fluctuates, it should be taken seriously, especially for patients with habitual miscarriage, who should take timely measures.

After a woman becomes pregnant, her luteinizing hormone level increases. Generally, the basal body temperature of women in the follicular phase is 36.5°C, and the temperature will rise by 0.5°C during the luteal phase. It is a normal physiological phenomenon for pregnant women to have an increased body temperature in the early stages of pregnancy. Pregnant women can pay attention to changes in their body temperature and use this to preliminarily infer that they are pregnant. If they find abnormal changes in body temperature, they need to go to the hospital for examination in time to rule out potential diseases.

One of the symptoms of early pregnancy is increased body temperature. The basal body temperature is around 37°C, and the increased body temperature will continue until the second trimester. This is mainly due to hormonal changes.

Generally speaking, a woman's basal body temperature will change with the menstrual period. Before and after menstruation, the body temperature will be maintained at around 36.5℃ under the action of estrogen, and then gradually decrease. The body temperature will be lowest during ovulation. After ovulation or conception, the body temperature will rise by 0.3-0.5℃ due to the influence of progesterone. The body temperature returns to normal when the next menstruation comes or the day before it.

The body temperature rises in the early stages of pregnancy because after ovulation, the follicle forms a corpus luteum and secretes progesterone, which can increase body temperature. If the egg is fertilized and pregnancy occurs, the corpus luteum continues to secrete progesterone, so the body temperature remains at a higher level.

A woman's body temperature remains stable after pregnancy. If the body temperature changes, it will be maintained within the range of 36.9℃--37.2℃. If your body temperature fluctuates, it may be a sign of corpus luteum deficiency. Insufficient corpus luteum can easily lead to miscarriage or infertility. When there is a large change in body temperature, it should be taken seriously. For pregnant women who have experienced miscarriage, they should go to the hospital for examination in time and take appropriate measures.

In addition, if a pregnant woman has an abnormally high body temperature and feels uncomfortable in the early stages of pregnancy, she should suspect she has a fever and it is recommended that she go to the hospital for examination and timely treatment.
