Reactions after successful blastocyst transfer

Blastocyst transfer is a common method of treating infertility. The emergence of test-tube babies has given hope to many infertile families. After a successful blastocyst transfer, the body will have some early pregnancy reactions, but each person's symptoms are different. Most people will experience nausea, vomiting, chest pain and other symptoms. These conditions indicate that the transplant has been successful.

Reactions after successful blastocyst transfer

1. Abdominal discomfort: Generally, patients will experience abdominal discomfort after IVF transplantation. Because abdominal pain is one of the reactions after IVF transplantation. Mild abdominal pain, generally not serious. Because starting from the 7th day after the blastocyst transplantation, the blastocyst will grow something like a small tail to combine with the mother's uterine wall. Later, this "tail" will develop into the umbilical cord connected to the mother. The blastocyst finds a suitable and comfortable position on the uterine wall (usually the fundus, but mostly on the posterior wall and less on the anterior wall. Therefore, the mother should sleep on her back more often during these days and avoid too much strenuous exercise). The blastocyst needs to be closely integrated with the uterine wall in order to obtain nutrients from the mother for future growth and development. Therefore, some mothers may feel a stabbing pain in their lower abdomen from time to time, and this feeling may last for a few days. When women experience this, it is very likely that the blastocyst is looking for its own implantation site. However, if the discomfort symptoms gradually worsen or severe abdominal pain occurs suddenly, you should actively contact your attending physician.

2. Abdominal distension and chest tightness: Abdominal distension and chest tightness are also experienced by patients after transplantation. This is mostly due to progesterone injections, reduced intestinal motility, and excessive rest. After the transplant, you should rest for 2-3 days and then go back to work, as long as you don't do heavy physical labor and avoid activities that increase abdominal pressure. However, if the patient's estrogen level is too high on the day of HCG injection or too many eggs are retrieved, more attention should be paid. If the symptoms gradually worsen, you should go to the hospital immediately.

3. Mild breast tenderness: It is necessary to consider whether it is caused by the injection of progesterone or other hormone injections. It is not necessarily related to embryo implantation. After transplantation, HCG can be detected in urine as early as the tenth day, but the time of detection varies from person to person, so it is not fixed. It can be detected on the fourteenth day at the latest. Or around the twelfth day, you can go for a blood test to measure HCG, which can basically determine whether you are pregnant.

4. Bleeding: Patients may experience slight pink or brown bleeding after IVF transfer, and cramps may also accompany this condition. There may be some bleeding symptoms during the menstrual period, but it is not a real menstrual period. This is the result of a fertilized egg implanting in the uterus.
