What to do if you have acne all over your face during pregnancy

What to do if you have acne all over your face during pregnancy

After a woman becomes pregnant, she may find that not only does she experience great psychological changes, but the physical changes are even greater. Especially when there are many discomforts, women often become more sensitive. At this time, family care is very important. What should I do if my face is covered with acne during pregnancy? This problem is also very distressing. After pregnancy, women should try not to use the previous skin care products, choose safe facial cleansers to clean the face, etc., and pay attention to a light and nutritious diet.

1. Improper or excessive local skin cleansing may induce skin allergies and acne. Wash your face with clean water to remove excess oil on the skin surface and keep the sebaceous gland ducts unobstructed. But don't over-clean it, don't use strong alkaline detergents, choose mild ones. Do not remove oil excessively without protection, which will cause the skin to become excessively dry and itchy, damage the skin barrier function, and aggravate acne to a certain extent.

2. The culprit for acne on the forehead is the bangs. Although bangs look good, the forehead covered by a layer of hair is particularly prone to acne. First, it will cause poor breathability of the skin; second, the dirt on the hair can easily clog the pores, providing a good environment for anaerobic Propionibacterium acnes and inducing the formation of acne. Therefore, it is recommended that pregnant women who are prone to acne on their foreheads should expose their foreheads, either by cutting their bangs or combing their bangs up with a clip.

3. In order to meet the nutritional needs of mother and baby, pregnant women will take supplements. It is necessary to nourish the body, but it should be mild and light. You can choose bird's nest, Codonopsis pilosula, Poria cocos, Ophiopogon japonicus, Adenophora radix, lotus root, Tremella fuciformis, etc. Eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, and less fried food, beef, mutton, animal offal, egg yolk, cream, etc. Acne is easily caused by eating too much fatty, greasy, high-sugar, spicy and other irritating foods. In daily life, you should pay more attention to keeping your intestines smooth, drink more warm water, eat more crude fiber, and have regular bowel movements. Drinking mung bean soup regularly can clear lung heat and remove dampness and toxins.

4. Some expectant mothers feel excessive psychological pressure due to pregnancy, which causes mood swings and makes them prone to acne. Ways to relieve stress include eating a nutritious diet, getting enough rest, and exercising regularly. You might as well listen to more music and let the beautiful music relieve your mental fatigue. A leisurely walk is beneficial to the physical and mental health of pregnant women and fetuses.

5. Pregnant women should not use cosmetics. Cosmetics contain a variety of disclosed and undisclosed chemical ingredients that may be harmful to pregnant women and fetuses. In particular, using inappropriate skin care products may also cause acne. When using skin care products containing oils, powders, or hormone ingredients, the chemicals or large-particle powders will penetrate into the pores of the skin, clog the hair follicles, and cause many acne. Be careful when applying makeup and even more careful when removing makeup, and avoid excessive exposure to the sun.

6. Do not squeeze, press, scratch or pick at pimples with your hands to avoid aggravating the inflammation and infection. If local acne is infected, the main medicine is antibiotics, which are mainly used for antibacterial and anti-inflammatory purposes. However, some drugs containing tetracycline are particularly contraindicated for pregnant women. For pregnant mothers, both topical and oral medications should be used with caution.

7. Pregnant women cannot use vitamin A acid drugs. Retinoic acid drugs are the first-line drugs for the treatment of acne, but retinoic acid has serious side effects, such as teratogenicity and psychological depression, etc. Therefore, doctors are very cautious about the use of retinoic acid in clinical practice. If you are using A acid treatment, it is recommended to wait at least 6 months before becoming pregnant.
