Does low hormone levels affect pregnancy?

Low hormone levels mean that the hormones in the patient's body do not reach normal levels. If the hormone level is low, it is likely to affect future pregnancy functions. In addition, before pregnancy, you need to go to the hospital for a relevant pregnancy test, which can check whether the woman's current physical stage is suitable for pregnancy and whether there are some potential other diseases, so that you can get pregnant more smoothly.

The advent of early pregnancy test strips has brought great convenience to the diagnosis of early pregnancy.

On the seventh day of a woman's pregnancy, a specific hormone - human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG for short) can be detected in her blood. Its function is to help maintain pregnancy and can sometimes be detected by urine testing. This test has the advantages of being rapid, convenient, sensitive and highly specific, and can avoid cross-reactions caused by other glycoprotein hormones with similar structures to HCG. It is worth noting that if women of childbearing age experience amenorrhea, they cannot rely solely on a single pregnancy test to determine whether they are pregnant. The most reliable thing is to go to the hospital for a comprehensive examination in time, especially for those with weak positive results, so that measures can be taken as soon as possible.

Pregnancy test

The urine pregnancy test is performed by professional testers in the hospital's laboratory department using testing instruments to test the patient's urine sample. If human chorionic gonadotropin is detected in the urine, it normally indicates pregnancy. Urine samples must be collected from morning urine, because morning urine is concentrated and has higher hormone levels. In order to increase the positive rate of the test, you should try to reduce your water intake the night before. It is best to get a container from the hospital laboratory in advance, because it contains preservatives and the urine is not easy to deteriorate. If conditions permit, any wide-mouth bottle can be used, but it needs to be washed and boiled for sterilization or rinsed with boiling water. After collecting about 10 ml of morning urine, send it to the hospital for testing immediately. If the time is delayed too long, it may affect the accuracy of the test. This should be paid more attention to in the summer.

B-mode ultrasound examination

Using B-ultrasound to diagnose early pregnancy is the most accurate and reliable method. It can be confirmed as early as the 5th week of pregnancy, which is one week after the menstrual period. A round halo can be seen in the uterus on the B-ultrasound screen, and yolk can be seen.

Basal body temperature measurement

This is the simplest and easiest method. Measure your body temperature in bed every morning after waking up. The temperature at this time is called basal body temperature. Generally, the body temperature is below 36.5 degrees before ovulation. After ovulation, the progesterone level rises and acts on the body temperature center, causing the body temperature to rise by 0.3-0.5 degrees. If the egg cannot be fertilized, progesterone levels will drop after about a week and the body temperature will return to normal; if pregnancy has occurred, progesterone levels will remain high, keeping the body temperature high as well.

If the high temperature curve phenomenon in the basal body temperature persists for more than 18 days, early pregnancy can generally be confirmed. It is also important to note that X-rays cannot be used to diagnose early pregnancy. Because only after 18-20 weeks of pregnancy can X-rays show fetal bone shadows, and X-rays in early pregnancy can damage the fetus.
