When babies are born, they all need to rely on their mother's breast milk for nutrition, but the size of each mother's mammary glands is different, so some mothers' mammary glands are too small, resulting in breast milk blockage. At this time, pregnant women need to induce lactation, and the best way to induce lactation is massage. There are certain techniques to massage for lactation, so what are the massage techniques for lactation in pregnant women? Promotes patency of breast ducts Method: Use the pulp of your thumb, index finger, and middle finger to massage back and forth longitudinally along the course of the mammary duct (see Figure 1). 2. Make the areola and milk sinus softer Method: Use your thumb, index finger and middle finger to perform 360-degree rotating massage around the areola, and your hands can change directions continuously. Because the mammary sinuses in the areola are harder, a longer massage time is required (see Figure 2). 3. Strengthen the lactation reflex Method: Use the thumb, index finger and middle finger to squeeze from the areola toward the nipple. When squeezing, the mother can imagine how a baby sucks milk and imagine the three fingers of massage as the baby's small mouth sucking milk. 4. Relieve milk stasis Method: Use one hand to support the breast in a "C" shape and vibrate the breast slightly, gradually increasing the amplitude of vibration; use three fingers of the other hand to massage from the areola toward the nipple (see Figure 4). 5. Eliminate the hardening of the areola and surrounding tissues Method: Place one hand on the outside of the areola, press vertically with the thumb and index finger, and use the other hand to massage along the course of the mammary duct using the method of milking until the areola gradually softens (see Figure 5). 6Improve short, flat and sunken nipples Method: Press and knead the nipple, and massage the areola and milk duct at the same time (see Figure 6). Precautions The stay-at-home mom said that the mother should keep the wet nurse in a good mood. After giving birth, mothers will experience greater mood swings due to physiological and environmental factors, and often become depressed, which will restrict the secretion of breast milk. Through a large amount of data comparison, the stay-at-home mom found that when a breastfeeding mother is depressed, her milk secretion will decrease sharply. |
