How long after cervical conization can I exercise

How long after cervical conization can I ride a bicycle? Many female friends may be forced to undergo cervical conization for various reasons. So what is cervical conization and how long should you wait before you can ride a bicycle after cervical conization? Let me tell you now.

How long after cervical conization can I ride a bicycle

1. How long after cervical conization can I ride a bicycle?

Patients who undergo cervical conization should pay attention to keeping warm after the operation and avoid catching a fever or cold. If they have a cough, the abdominal pressure will increase, which can easily increase the bleeding rate of the cervical stump. The stump of the cervix is usually sutured with catgut, so the abdominal pressure should not be increased after the operation, otherwise the thread will be broken, which will easily cause bleeding. Also, after the operation, you must refrain from sexual intercourse and sitz bathing for at least one month, and take contraceptive measures for at least three months. After the operation, you should squat, stand and move less, and you are not allowed to sit or ride a bicycle or electric vehicle. It is best to rest in bed for one month after surgery.

2. Why do we need cervical conization?

It is often called a precancerous lesion, indicating that it is not cancer after all. However, if it is not treated, it will turn into cancer after a period of time (average 3-8 years). Moreover, "cervical disease" is ultimately a problem of the "cervix" itself. Unless it develops into advanced cervical cancer, it is generally not easy to hurt the uterus. Therefore, in most cases, conization is sufficient and there is no need to injure the uterus and remove it. For young women with cervical precancerous lesions, if the hysterectomy is performed, it is considered excessive treatment! On the other hand, for some early cervical cancers, if the hysterectomy is performed immediately and it is found to be stage IA1 cervical cancer, it is of course very lucky, because total hysterectomy is just the right treatment! But if the tragedy is stage IA2 or stage IB1, then it will be troublesome. Because hysterectomy alone is not enough in this case, some tissue around the uterus should also be removed (i.e., dilated hysterectomy). At this time, it is very difficult to perform rescue surgery and it is easy to cause damage.

3. What are the common problems after cervical conization?

For patients with bleeding after cone biopsy, if the bleeding is mild (less than the menstrual volume), observation and application of hemostatic drugs are required; if the bleeding is severe, careful inspection is required to find the bleeding site, compression is performed to activate blood circulation, and surgical suture is performed if necessary. We require patients to start vaginal washing one week after surgery to reduce wound infection and promote healing. At first, you can use some medicine (actually you should go to the hospital) to dilute the liquid and then wash it. After 2 weeks, you can wash it with cold boiled water. You need to purchase professional cleaning equipment (available at pharmacies). Generally it needs to be cleaned every 2-3 months and it cannot be cleaned during menstruation. It is recommended to see a doctor once a month for three months after cervical conization. The main purpose is to check the wound healing status and deal with any abnormalities properly. We will decide whether to continue vaginal cleaning based on the situation. At 3 months after the operation, the patient will have a follow-up check for cervical cytology (TCT) or human papillomavirus infection; there will be follow-up checks at 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months respectively, with the same new items as before.
