Menopausal gynecological inflammation is relatively common. During menopause, women's physical fitness tends to decline. At this time, due to hormonal reasons, it is often easy to cause problems with the acid-base balance of the vagina. This is an important cause of menopausal inflammation. When this happens, you must pay attention to the hygiene of your private parts, strengthen good conditioning, and focus on improving immunity in your daily life.

Senile vaginitis is common in postmenopausal women because of the decline of ovarian function, atrophy of the vaginal wall, and reduced local resistance, which makes it easy for bacteria to invade and cause inflammation. The main symptoms are increased vaginal secretion and vulvar itching and burning sensation. The vaginal secretions are thin and light yellow. In severe cases, there is bloody purulent leucorrhea. Examination shows senile changes in the vagina, epithelial atrophy, smooth epithelium, congestion of the vaginal mucosa, small bleeding spots, and sometimes superficial ulcers. If the ulcer surface is adhered to the opposite side, the adhesion can be separated during vaginal examination and cause bleeding. Severe adhesions can cause vaginal stenosis or even occlusion. Poor drainage of inflammatory secretions can form vaginal abscesses or even intrauterine abscesses.

Flush the vagina with acetic acid solution to increase vaginal acidity and inhibit bacterial growth and reproduction once a day. For those with severe inflammation, estrogen preparations should be used.

Enhance immunity

Supplementing a small amount of estrogen is the treatment principle for senile vaginitis. It can thicken the vaginal mucosa and enhance resistance. However, irrational use of estrogen can easily cause endometrial cancer and breast cancer, so it must be used under the guidance of a doctor. Estrogen supplementation and food supplements are safer than drug supplements. It is recommended that elderly women and middle-aged women with signs of premature ovarian failure take 1-2 tablespoons of fresh royal jelly with cold boiled water on an empty stomach in the morning and evening, and insist on drinking a cup of fresh soy milk or eating a portion of soy products every day.

It is advisable to use warm water when cleaning the vulva. When senile vaginitis occurs, do not use hot water to wash the vulva due to vulvar itching. Although doing so can temporarily relieve vulvar itching, it will make the vulvar skin dry and rough, and the itching will soon become more severe.

Change your underwear every day during your illness. The underwear should be loose and comfortable, and made of pure cotton.

Pay attention to hygiene at ordinary times to reduce the chance of illness. Do not use soap or various liquid medicines to clean the vulva for the purpose of disinfection and sterilization. Because the vulva skin of elderly women is generally dry and atrophied, frequent use of soap and other irritating cleaning products to clean the vulva will aggravate skin dryness, cause itching, and damage the vulva skin. Use warm boiled water when cleaning the vulva, you can add a little salt or vinegar, the toilet paper you choose should have the wording of disinfection standard, change your underwear frequently, use your own washing basin, and do not share towels with others.

If you suffer from senile vaginitis, do not use drugs indiscriminately

Senile vaginitis is not difficult to treat, but do not use drugs indiscriminately when discomfort occurs in the vulva, because the bacteria that cause senile vaginitis are mostly Escherichia coli, unlike women of childbearing age where candidal vaginitis and Trichomonas vaginitis are the most common. Therefore, do not use drugs to treat fungi or Trichomonas indiscriminately, and do not treat vulvovaginitis as vulvar eczema and use hormone ointments indiscriminately, as this will be counterproductive.
