The difference between pregnancy and premenstrual symptoms

We all know that pregnancy and menstruation are closely related, almost opposites. If you are pregnant, your menstruation will stop until you give birth. There are many similarities between the symptoms before menstruation and pregnancy, and many people get confused. Sometimes they don’t know whether they are pregnant or having their period, which causes some trouble. So what is the difference between pregnancy and premenstrual symptoms?

1. Differences between pregnancy and premenstrual symptoms

1. Fatigue level

Fatigue can occur before your period or in early pregnancy. But the two are also different. In the early stages of pregnancy, you will feel less tired and often want to sleep. This situation also occurs before menstruation, but the fatigue before menstruation will only last for two days, and this feeling will disappear after two days.

2. Breast

The breasts will feel swollen and painful whether you are pregnant or before your period, but the difference is that in the early stages of pregnancy, the breasts will feel tingling and swollen, the color of the nipples will become darker, and the breasts will often be in an erect state. Before menstruation, there are small lumps inside the breasts, which will be very painful when touched. This situation will disappear after the menstruation is over.

3. Appetite

After pregnancy, due to pregnancy reactions, the appetite of pregnant women will be greatly reduced, and their taste will change significantly. However, it is different during menstruation. Many people have a strong appetite during menstruation and tend to crave spicy food.

There is a big difference between before menstruation and pregnancy, and you can tell the difference with careful observation. When a situation like delayed menstruation occurs, the first thing to consider is whether you are pregnant, so as to avoid unexpected situations that may lead to serious consequences.
