Chest hair is a relatively common phenomenon, and it is also a common phenomenon for many men, especially European men. Many women also have chest hair, and many people think that it is abnormal for women to have chest hair. In fact, in some cases, it is a normal physiological phenomenon for women to have chest hair. It is usually caused by congenital heredity or excessive male hormones in women's bodies. Many young women have long arm hair and think they have hirsutism, but this anxiety is unnecessary. In the same region, the same family or even the same family, the growth of hair of men and women can vary in terms of early or late, fast or slow, long or short, and amount. Differences between individuals do exist and are all within the normal physiological range. Hirsutism can be either congenital or acquired: 1. Congenital: Congenital systemic hypertrichosis, which people usually call "hairy man", is a "reversion to the ancestral" phenomenon, often with family factors, caused by autosomal abnormalities, and has a tendency to be inherited from generation to generation. 2. Acquired: Various reasons lead to an increase in androgen in the female body, or an imbalance in the ratio of estrogen and androgen, which causes hirsutism. 1. Ovarian lesions: The most common is bilateral polycystic ovary syndrome. It is mainly caused by the hypothalamus's regulatory disorder of pituitary function, or the lack of certain enzymes in the ovaries themselves. When suffering from this disease, in addition to not ovulating, 70% of patients have excessive hair on their lips, areola, forearms, calves, etc. Ovarian tumors may also appear hirsutistic. 2. Adrenal diseases: Adrenal gonadal syndrome, adrenal cortical tumors, Cushing's syndrome, etc. can all increase the level of male hormones in the human body and cause hirsutism. 3. Pituitary lesions: The pituitary gland secretes various gonadotropins, which play an important coordinating role in various hormones in the body. When there are lesions in the pituitary gland, such as acromegaly, pituitary tumors, etc., it can lead to hirsutism. 4. Brain and hypothalamic lesions: such as multiple sclerosis, obesity, encephalitis, etc., may also cause hirsutism. 5. Other endocrine diseases: such as hypothyroidism. 6. Irrational use of drugs: Excessive use of corticosteroids, androgens, nandrolone phenylpropionate, etc. can also cause hirsutism. |
