Can I wear contact lenses during confinement?

Nowadays, more and more people are suffering from myopia, and the age of myopia is getting younger and younger. Many people need to wear myopia glasses since elementary school. What's more frightening is that parents' severe myopia leads to hereditary myopia. Compared with frame glasses, it is more convenient to affect the eyes and because many contact lenses can choose beauty lenses, contact lenses can make your eyes look bigger. Can myopic mothers wear contact lenses during the confinement period?

You can wear them during breastfeeding, but not for too long, otherwise it will be bad for your glasses. If you wear contact lenses for a long time, it may easily cause inflammation. You can alternate between wearing contact lenses and frame glasses.

Contact lenses, also called contact lenses, are lenses that are worn on the cornea of the eye to correct vision or protect the eyes. According to the hardness of the material, it includes three types: hard, semi-hard and soft. Contact lenses have not only brought great improvements in appearance and convenience to patients with refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. It also has a wide field of vision and lifelike vision. In addition, it also plays a special role in controlling the development of myopia and astigmatism in adolescents and treating special eye diseases.

The water content will affect the properties of the lens. The higher the water content, the softer the lens is, but it is also easier to deform and break, and the lens is more likely to lose water; conversely, the lower the water content, the better the lens formability will be, the less deformation will be, and it will be less likely to dehydrate than lenses with high water content. The water content is generally divided like this:

That is: a lens with a water content of less than 38% is called a low-water content lens, 42%-60% is a medium-water content lens, and a lens with a water content of more than 60% is called a high-water content lens.

Oxygen permeability

For those who wear contact lenses or colored contact lenses for the first time, they may feel uncomfortable. One possible reason is: corneal hypoxia. Under normal circumstances, our cornea needs to "breathe". The oxygen permeability of contact lenses is an important indicator for evaluating the quality of contact lens materials. Therefore, a lens material with a higher oxygen permeability is a very important factor in choosing lenses.

Long-term corneal hypoxia can easily lead to corneal-related complications, such as chronic corneal edema, corneal neovascularization, etc. Contact lenses, especially colored contact lenses, meet the needs of many beauty-conscious people, but you must follow standard procedures to fit the contact lens products that suit you, and strictly follow the care procedures for daily care. It is particularly important to note that lenses made of different materials, such as ordinary hydrogel lenses and silicone hydrogel lenses, have very different oxygen permeabilities, and the wearing time is also very different.
