The harm of drinking alcohol frequently for women

Wine is a kind of drink that is loved by many people in life. Nowadays, wine is indispensable in any occasion, especially in various gatherings or festivals. Nowadays, both men and women can drink more, and sometimes many women are even more generous than men when drinking. If you drink a moderate amount of alcohol, it is still good for your health, but drinking a lot without restriction will cause a lot of harm to your health.

1. Affects the brain

A small amount of alcohol can make people excited, make the brain active, and have a certain sedative effect. However, excessive alcohol intake can reduce a person's concentration and judgment, and may even cause slurred speech, blurred vision, and loss of balance. More seriously, it can affect a person's memory. As a psychoactive substance, alcohol can also have a strong stimulating effect on the heart, brain, and blood vessels, and can also have adverse effects on the human nervous system.

2. Damage to the liver

The damage that drinking alcohol does to the liver is probably the most well-known. Alcohol is mainly metabolized and detoxified by the liver. Once it enters the human body, it will increase the burden on the liver, seriously affecting the normal function of the liver and causing liver damage. In addition, alcohol produces a carcinogenic substance - acetaldehyde - during the metabolism and detoxification process in the liver. Under normal circumstances, acetaldehyde will be broken down by acetaldehyde dehydrogenase in the human body and excreted from the body. However, drinking large amounts of alcohol for a long time will cause acetaldehyde to not be completely broken down and remain in the body, which poses a time-limited hidden danger to the body.

3. Damage to the nerve center

Alcohol is a small molecule substance that can easily reach various organs throughout the body. Once ethanol enters the body, it quickly enters our brain. It can also cause considerable damage to our nervous system, mainly manifested in muscle incoordination, slow reaction, euphoric effects, decreased attention, judgment, self-control, memory loss, and intellectual decline.

4. Cause stomach problems

Alcohol is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and can easily cause gastric ulcers. Because alcohol irritates the gastric mucosa and causes bleeding, it will lead to chronic gastritis, loss of appetite and diarrhea in the long run.

5. Harm to the heart

Long-term and heavy drinking can also cause myocardial fiber degeneration and loss of elasticity, heart enlargement, increased cholesterol, and damage to the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular systems. The risk of myocarditis, arteriosclerosis, and coronary heart disease is much higher than that of moderate drinkers.
