The fastest way to pass gas during cesarean section

The fastest way to pass gas during cesarean section

The best way for pregnant women to give birth is natural birth, and caesarean section will only be chosen when it is absolutely necessary. After a caesarean section, doctors will advise mothers to expel gas as soon as possible, because caesarean section will increase waste gas in the body, and expelling gas can promote intestinal peristalsis and restore gastrointestinal function. However, some women do not pass gas for many days after a caesarean section, which makes many women very anxious. Is there any way to quickly pass gas?

Why do we need to exhaust during caesarean section?

Mothers who choose cesarean section will be advised by doctors to expel gas as soon as possible after the operation. That is to say, the new mother is required to expel the waste gas in her stomach in order to restore the intestinal function. After cesarean section, the intestinal tract is stimulated, which leads to weakened intestinal motility and postoperative abdominal distension. Only after the gas is discharged (that is, farting) can it be determined that intestinal motility has returned to normal.

The fastest way to pass gas during cesarean section

1. Get out of bed and move around

Mothers should get out of bed and move around as soon as possible, which will help with postpartum gas discharge. 24 hours after a cesarean section, a new mother can stand for a while or take a few light steps with the help of her family or nurse, and do this 3 to 4 times a day. This can help restore intestinal motility as soon as possible.

However, some new mothers may experience low blood pressure symptoms such as "black spots in front of the eyes" and "dizziness" when they get out of bed for the first time. You can wait for a while before getting out of bed. If you really cannot stand and exercise, you can move around in bed appropriately, such as turning over more often. This is not only conducive to exhaust, but also can prevent adhesion of internal organs.

2. Massage the abdomen and anus

Family and friends can gently massage the mother's abdomen from top to bottom, once every 2 to 3 hours, each time for 10 to 20 minutes. It not only promotes intestinal peristalsis, but also helps to discharge residual blood from the uterus and vagina.

In addition, anal massage can be performed. After the mothers gradually regain consciousness 6 hours after the operation, they can lie on their left or right side, straighten the lower leg, bend the upper leg forward and support it with a pillow, and keep the whole body relaxed; put the middle finger, ten fingers and ring finger together in the middle of the anus, press 8-10 times and then massage 10 times in a circle to relax the anal sphincter and promote the natural discharge of gas.

When a baby is born by caesarean section, some excessive gas may enter the body, and then it needs to be discharged. However, few of us know how to discharge the gas, nor do we know how to speed it up. Now that we have mastered the method, we can solve the problem quickly. These methods are all good, so everyone can try them.
