What is the cause of cervical pain?

Cervical pain is a common disease among women. The uterus is an organ unique to women and its importance is self-evident. Childbirth requires the participation of the cervix. When cervical pain occurs, people must be very panicked. However, you should not rush to seek medical treatment in order to avoid causing more serious conditions. You need to understand the cause and then take measures to treat it. So let me introduce what cervical pain is.

Why do I feel pain in my cervix?

First of all, I believe everyone knows that the reason why you feel a little pain in your cervix may be caused by certain gynecological diseases. The most common one is the formation of masses near the female ovaries, uterus, and rectum, which causes women to experience aggravated abdominal pain before menstruation. This situation is the key factor in cervical pain. Of course, there is another situation. It is very likely that during sexual intercourse, the female friend's cervix is affected and damaged to a certain extent because the male friend uses too much force. In this case, sexual intercourse may cause cervical pain.

There is another situation where women suffer from gynecological inflammation, but the inflammation does not continue to worsen and does not cause any impact on the female body for the time being. Instead, it continues to wrap around the cervix, causing the inflammation to spread. In this case, women will experience obvious abdominal pain, and the amount of leucorrhea will continue to increase, and they will also have lower back pain and a feeling of heaviness. In addition, there will be obvious cervical pain. Of course, the last situation is that women experience menstrual pain for a long time in their lives. This situation itself means that the female body has been seriously damaged, thus causing cervical pain.

Functions of the cervix:

(1) The cervix is the first barrier for sperm to pass through. It secretes mucus. As the menstrual cycle changes, under the action of estrogen, the cervical mucus becomes very thin, which is conducive to the passage of sperm.

(2) The cervical canal is where sperm is stored. Its inner wall has many recesses and fissures, where sperm can be temporarily stored for 1 to 2 weeks, waiting to gain energy before entering the uterus.

(3) After pregnancy, the uterus continues to grow to accommodate the growth of the fetus. But the cervix remains closed, ensuring that the fetus grows safely inside it until the pregnancy is full term.

(4) At full term, during the delivery period, the cervix gradually softens and begins to dilate, and the cervical opening widens from 0.5 cm to 10 cm, opening the first door for the smooth delivery of the fetus. Therefore, the cervix is the only way for the fetus to be delivered.

(5) Some people believe that the cervix is also a sexually sensitive organ and has a certain relationship with sexual life.
