Pregnant woman is worried about whether it is a boy or a girl

The process of pregnancy is a risky and difficult process. Many pregnant women feel very heavy in the late stages of pregnancy, and experience a series of discomforts in the body, with abdominal tightness being one of the more prominent symptoms. So why does a pregnant woman feel abdominal tightness and what should she do?

Reasons why pregnant women feel uncomfortable in their abdomen

1. Everything is normal during pregnancy

In the late pregnancy, pregnant women's abdomen feels tight, because with the increase of pregnant women's weight, the movement becomes more and more difficult, and her heart and lungs are also under double pressure, which makes it easy to have the symptom of tightness.

2. Blood Circulation System Related

As the pregnancy progresses, the circulatory blood volume also increases. The total blood flow begins to increase in the 6th week of pregnancy, reaches a peak at 32-34 weeks, and the cardiac output increases the most during the 4th to 6th month of pregnancy. In the late pregnancy, the uterus enlarges and the diaphragm rises, causing the heart to move upward and to the left. At this time, you may feel suffocated when sleeping, which is also normal.

3. Poor heart function. Pregnant women may feel abdominal tightness due to poor heart function. If the symptoms are serious, they should go to the hospital for examination and diagnosis in time, and then take medication under the guidance of a doctor.

What should pregnant women do if their abdomen is tight?

Prevent fatigue

It is generally normal for pregnant women to feel abdominal tightness. Don't worry at first. Just don't push yourself too hard during daily activities or exercise. Make sure you get enough sleep and avoid excessive fatigue. Note: If pregnant women feel suffocated, they should keep their clothes straight and shoulders back to allow the lungs to expand as much as possible to relieve discomfort, especially when sitting down.

Sleeping on the left side

The abdominal tightness of pregnant women may be caused by sleeping in a supine position. When pregnant women sleep in a supine position, the enlarged uterus is compressed by the inferior vena cava, which reduces the venous return force and preload, resulting in hypotension. Pregnant women may feel dizzy, panic, nausea, vomiting, breathlessness, etc., and their faces may become pale, their limbs may become weak, and they may sweat. If the above symptoms occur, the pregnant woman should immediately sleep on her left side. The blood pressure can gradually recover and the symptoms will subside.

Diet and nutrition combination

When pregnant women feel abdominal tightness, they should pay more attention to their daily diet to avoid excessive weight gain during pregnancy, because obesity will make the shortness of breath worse. The diet of pregnant women should ensure a healthy and balanced diet. While ensuring the necessary nutrients for themselves and the fetus, they should also pay attention to taste and diet. In addition, be careful not to eat too much high-fat, high-salt, high-sugar and high-calorie food to prevent yourself from gaining weight.

Medical examination

Pregnant women not only feel abdominal tightness, but also experience shortness of breath after sitting for a long time without exercise or slight movement. This may be caused by heart disease. It is recommended to do an electrocardiogram to eliminate abnormalities. If a heart disease is confirmed, the doctor's advice on medication should be followed.
