Is it normal to have pelvic floor at 34 weeks of pregnancy?

Pregnancy is a very important stage for women. The health of a woman's body during pregnancy is related to the development of the fetus. If the baby enters the pelvis at 34 weeks of pregnancy, it may be a precursor to delivery. It is also a common phenomenon. Generally, a woman's first baby will enter the pelvis earlier. She should be prepared in advance, pay attention to changes in her body, and rest more often.

Is it normal to have pelvic floor at 34 weeks of pregnancy?

I am now 34 weeks pregnant and the baby has already entered the pelvis. Generally, the baby enters the pelvis four weeks earlier than expected during a first pregnancy.

Is the fetus in the pelvis at 34 weeks of pregnancy?

Everyone is different, and it depends on the specific situation of the baby. At this time, you should go for a routine prenatal check-up once a week, so that the doctor can check whether the baby has entered the pelvis.

If the biparietal diameter of the fetal head reaches below the entrance of the mother's pelvic cavity, the fetal head and pelvis are proportional, which is called "fetal engagement". This indicates that vaginal delivery is possible and the first step of the delivery process has been completed.

Generally speaking, the fetal position will not change after entering the pelvis, which lays a good foundation for a smooth delivery. Since the fetal head has entered the pelvis, the pregnant woman may experience frequent urination, constipation, cervical distension, etc. This is normal. As the uterus grows and descends, it compresses the intestines and bladder. The fetal head entering the pelvis sometimes collides with the cervical opening, so frequent urination, constipation, cervical distension, etc. There is no need to worry as long as there is no labor phenomenon such as water breaking, spotting, frequent uterine contractions, etc.

The most important thing is to maintain a happy mood, move around moderately, and keep your body in the best condition.

How to deal with the fetus not entering the pelvis

Generally speaking, in the last month of pregnancy, the fetal head of a normal primipara should enter the pregnant woman's pelvis and be connected to the pelvis without floating. However, in a few pregnant women, the fetal head still does not enter the pelvis when the pregnancy is full-term, but floats above the pubic symphysis, which is called primipara head floating.

The reason for this is that some pregnant women have a narrow pelvis, and the fetal head is not proportional to the pelvis, which makes it impossible for the fetal head to enter the pelvis. This phenomenon may occur if the fetal head is too large, the fetal position is abnormal, or there is placenta previa, even if the pregnant woman's pelvis is normal.

Fetal hydrocephalus or polyhydramnios can also cause it. However, some primiparas do not have the above reasons, but still experience the phenomenon of the fetal head not entering the pelvis.

Pregnant women who have a floating head during their first delivery do not need to be nervous. If the pregnant woman's pelvis and fetus are normal, she should cooperate closely with the doctor. After delivery, due to the squeezing of the uterine contraction, the fetal head will also deform into the pelvis, so that vaginal delivery can still be successful.

If the examination finds that the floating head is caused by uncorrectable pathological factors, you can prepare for surgical delivery. If a pregnant woman with a floating head experiences premature rupture of membranes and leakage of amniotic fluid, she should stay in bed with her hips raised and be sent to the hospital immediately. Because this situation is very likely to cause umbilical cord prolapse, causing accidents to the fetus.
