Contraception is an enduring topic for couples. How to successfully prevent pregnancy without causing harm to the body is a major research topic for some couples. Nowadays, there are only a few methods of contraception, including drug contraception, condoms, vasectomy or IUD insertion, etc. Some women choose to take short-term contraceptive pills because they may have children in the future. So, why does bleeding occur after taking short-acting contraceptive pills? It is short-acting, safe and effective, and most women do not experience any reaction after taking it; but a few women may experience spotting or bleeding while taking the medicine. This abnormal bleeding is called "breakthrough bleeding." This kind of vaginal bleeding is actually bleeding caused by endometrial necrosis and shedding. There are two main reasons for this: Can taking short-acting contraceptive pills cause vaginal bleeding? One, the dosage is insufficient. The short-term effect starts on the 5th day of menstruation, 1 tablet a day for 22 consecutive days. If you miss a dose or stop taking it, it will cause a sudden drop in estrogen and progesterone levels in the body. The endometrium will lose hormonal support and become necrotic and fall off, causing vaginal bleeding. Second, there are individual differences. The ratio of estrogen and progesterone contained in it does not match the balance requirement of estrogen and progesterone in some patients, resulting in a relative deficiency of a certain hormone in the body, which cannot maintain the growth of the endometrium, causing it to fall off and cause bleeding. Vaginal bleeding occurs during the first half of the cycle and may be caused by insufficient estrogen. The solution is to take 1-2 tablets of ethinyl estradiol as a contraceptive aid every day while taking the medicine, and stop taking all the medicines after taking 22 tablets. The increase in estrogen promotes the regrowth of the endometrium, thus having a hemostatic effect. If vaginal bleeding occurs in the second half of the cycle, it is often caused by insufficient progesterone. At this time, you need to take 1 tablet more per day, that is, 2 tablets per day, until the scheduled discontinuation date. If the amount of vaginal bleeding is too much or the period is approaching, even if it is menstruation, the medication should be stopped immediately and continued for the next cycle starting on the 5th day after stopping the medication. If bleeding occurs for several consecutive months, you should go to the hospital to check for organic diseases and try other contraceptive methods. |
