Characteristics of menopausal secretions

Characteristics of menopausal secretions

Women's secretions, also known as leucorrhea, like menstruation, accompany women for most of their lives, until menopause. With the onset of menopause, the amount of leucorrhea secretion will also decrease. Menopause does not mean there is no secretion, because this time is very special. The characteristics of menopausal secretions are something that many women are concerned about, and they worry that problems will arise. So, what are the characteristics of menopausal secretions? Let’s take a look below.

When a woman enters menopause, it means that her ovarian function declines and estrogen secretion decreases significantly, so vaginal secretions will be significantly reduced. If there is yellow discharge with an odor, and you suspect it is senile vaginitis, it is recommended that you go to the hospital for a leucorrhea test.

Four major symptoms of menopause in women

Generally speaking, postmenopausal women experience the following four symptoms during menopause:

1. Hot flashes are a common symptom experienced by menopausal women.

2. Palpitations, also known as heart palpitations, are also one of the most common symptoms of menopause.

3. Abnormal mental and neurological symptoms.

4. Back pain is an early symptom of osteoporosis in menopausal women.

Traditional Chinese medicine classifies it as "dirty and irritable". Treatment should focus on tonifying the spleen and kidney, regulating Chong and Ren meridians, while also soothing the liver, regulating emotions, controlling desires, arranging appropriate work and rest, and being careful in daily life to complement the treatment. Dietary treatment that focuses on nourishing the heart and spleen, tonifying the kidneys and moistening dryness not only has better results, but also can strengthen the body.

Period Division

Regardless of how early or late menopause starts and how long it lasts, it can be divided into premenopause, menopause (cessation of menstruation) and postmenopause (one year after cessation of menstruation), and is marked by the gradual decline to complete disappearance of ovarian function.

Menopause is the transition stage when women gradually enter old age from sexual maturity (reproductive period). It is an important stage in the aging process of the human body and the physiological changes are particularly obvious. More than 90% of women will experience symptoms to varying degrees, affecting their personal health and quality of life.

complication

1. Psychoneural symptoms: The clinical features are the first onset of the disease during the perimenopause period, often accompanied by sexual dysfunction. There are two types: excitatory type and depressive type.

2. Urogenital tract symptoms

Vulvar and vaginal atrophy; bladder and urethral symptoms; uterine prolapse and vaginal wall bulging may occur.

3. Cardiovascular symptoms

(1) Some patients experience pseudo-angina, sometimes accompanied by palpitations and chest tightness.

(2) A small number of patients experience mild hypertension, characterized by elevated systolic blood pressure and low diastolic blood pressure, with paroxysmal attacks. When blood pressure rises, patients may experience dizziness, headache, chest tightness, and palpitations.

4. Osteoporosis

Starting from perimenopause, women's bone absorption rate exceeds bone formation, which leads to bone loss and osteoporosis.
