What are the symptoms of urinary tuberculosis in women?

What people often call urinary tuberculosis actually refers to urethral tuberculosis. This disease is not common in clinical practice. According to reports, urethral tuberculosis is more likely to occur in men. The patient's urethra will experience pain, especially when urinating. The pain will worsen and will be accompanied by many other symptoms such as urethral bleeding. So if a woman has urinary tuberculosis, what symptoms may appear?

Symptoms of urinary tuberculosis in women:

In addition to gonococci, urethritis caused by other pathogens is collectively referred to as urethritis.

Suggestions: Its clinical manifestations are that women often experience itching, burning, and stinging in the urethra, sometimes urinary urgency and difficulty urinating, congestion or redness and swelling of the urethral opening, and serous, mucopurulent or thin white secretions. Women have frequent urination, urgency or difficulty urinating; cervicitis causes increased leucorrhea, congestion or redness, swelling and erosion of the cervix;

Urethritis is a type of urethritis transmitted by sexual contact, but gonococci cannot be found in urethral secretions. Women also have genital tract inflammations such as cervicitis. The pathogens are mostly chlamydia, mycoplasma, trichomonas, herpes virus, and candida, and chlamydia and mycoplasma infections account for more than 80%.

Recommendation: After urethritis is diagnosed, it is necessary to use broad-spectrum antibiotics for treatment, and it is emphasized that the medication should be taken continuously, regularly, quantitatively, and thoroughly. After treatment, the reexamination 10-20 days later is negative again, and the disappearance of clinical symptoms is considered cured. The treatment course required for this disease is relatively long. At present, the new generation of quinolone cumulative drugs is generally used.

The urethra has a strong resistance to tuberculosis. The urethra is doubly invaded by genital tuberculosis and urinary tuberculosis, but urethral tuberculosis is still rare. Urethral tuberculosis mainly occurs in men and is often accompanied by severe renal tuberculosis. Among urogenital tuberculosis, tuberculosis is a very rare disease with an incidence rate of less than 1%. In this case, it is recommended to go for a checkup as soon as possible to check if the symptoms are caused by a urinary tract infection.

The treatment of urinary tuberculosis is the same as that of pulmonary tuberculosis, and it also requires anti-tuberculosis treatment.

This needs further confirmation with a urine test. Otherwise it’s hard to explain. After confirming the condition, we can then see whether it is better to use medication for treatment.
