Breast health care and disease prevention

Breast health care and disease prevention

Some women do not understand the importance of breast health. For example, they like to wear tight underwear, eat spicy and high-salt foods, or work overtime and stay up late, which leads to endocrine disorders and causes various breast diseases. Some experience tingling, swelling and lumps in the breasts, while others experience nipple discharge, which is very painful. The key to breast disease is health care and prevention. Let us learn about the relevant knowledge about breast health care and disease prevention and treatment.

1. Common breast diseases

1. Breast hyperplasia: The incidence of breast hyperplasia is high, and the main manifestations are lumps and pain. Generally speaking, most hyperplasias will not turn into cancer. The currently recognized precancerous lesions are atypical hyperplasia of the mammary duct epithelium and papillomatosis. The disease is not harmful and does not require surgery. Just go to the hospital for regular checkups.

2. Breast fibroids: The tumor is smooth, mobile and not prone to malignant transformation. Surgical resection can be performed at an elective time. It is worth mentioning that there is a type of giant fibroadenoma.

3. Breast cancer: The lump is hard, has an uneven surface, grows rapidly, but is not painful. Therefore, we should be vigilant. Some breast cancers manifest as enlarged axillary lymph nodes, nipple eczema or unilateral nipple erosion, which should be paid attention to.

4. Breast cysts: Breast cysts are mostly caused by breast hyperplasia or milk stasis during lactation. A few breast cancers are also accompanied by cysts. The characteristics of the fluid in the cyst often represent different diseases. The characteristics of the fluid in the cysts of breast hyperplasia, milk accumulation during lactation and breast cancer are often: light yellow watery, milky and bloody.

5. Intraductal papilloma: It often presents as bloody or yellowish slurry discharge from the nipple. The tumor is small and must be clearly located before surgical removal. Multiple papilloma-like lesions occurring in the distal tiny milk ducts are called papillomatosis, which is considered to be a precursor to breast cancer and should be closely followed up or surgically removed by biopsy.

6. Mastitis: Acute mastitis during lactation is often caused by milk stasis and infection, with obvious redness, swelling, heat and pain. Generally, the abscess should be incised and drained, and antibacterial and anti-inflammatory treatment should be given. Non-lactational mastitis is often caused by congenital nipple inversion leading to milk duct obstruction, which is often manifested as a chronic process with atypical symptoms of redness, swelling, heat and pain, a long course of treatment and easy recurrence.

2. The importance of breast health

1. The incidence of breast diseases has increased significantly

In recent years, breast cancer has gradually replaced cervical cancer to become the most common malignant tumor in women and the "number one killer" of female friends. Patients with breast hyperplasia account for 30-40% of the normal population and tend to be younger.

2. Breast diseases are most likely to be ignored

1) The breast is located on the surface of the body. Even if the tumor is very large in the late stage, there is no obvious discomfort, which can easily lead to a paralyzed mentality and failure to seek medical treatment in time.

2) The breast is a sensitive area, and people may easily feel shy and avoid seeing a doctor when they are sick.

3. How to prevent breast diseases

1. Maintain correct body posture. When walking and sitting, you must develop the correct posture of keeping your chest up and your abdomen in. Do chest expansion exercises every morning. Stretch out your arms or elbows, expand them backwards as far as you can, then raise your arms with your palms facing forward, and move backwards with force.

2. Massage your breasts regularly. Massage will enhance blood circulation in the chest and breasts, improve metabolic capacity, and make local bones and flesh plump and elastic. At the same time, breast massage can activate the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, thereby promoting the development of breasts.

3. Wear a firm bra. In addition to preventing breast sagging, the more important function of a bra is to prevent further compression of the already compressed breast nerves and eliminate discomfort.

4. Salty, spicy and high-salt foods can easily cause breast enlargement. These foods should be avoided especially 7 to 10 days before menstruation. Follow the principles of a low-fat, high-fiber diet, eat more whole-grain products, beans and vegetables, control the intake of animal protein, and pay attention to supplementing appropriate trace elements.
