What causes pain above the breast?

There are many reasons that can cause breast pain, so when a woman has breast pain, she should carefully feel what causes the breast pain. If you have breast pain during your menstrual period, just wait until after your menstrual period and the pain will disappear. If the breast pain is caused by wearing an inappropriate bra, you should replace it with a properly fitting bra. If the breast pain is caused by a disease, you should go to the hospital for examination and treatment.

What causes pain above the breast?

1. Caused by menstrual period:

This pain is clearly related to the menstrual period. It usually occurs two or three days before the period due to increased blood supply, causing breast tenderness and pain, and gradually disappears after the period. Due to its obvious relationship with menstruation, it usually does not cause trouble to the person concerned.

2. The pain is caused by pressure from an ill-fitting bra, which can be relieved by changing the bra.

3. Excessive breast size causes drooping and discomfort.

4. Pain caused by breast trauma.

5. Redness, swelling, heat and pain caused by breast inflammation and infection

Mastitis is particularly prone to occur during lactation, and symptoms can be quickly relieved through proper treatment (such as administration of antibiotics and appropriate massage).

6. Breast hyperplasia.

This is the most common and also the most stubborn. After the age of 30, almost every woman will have varying degrees of breast hyperplasia, accompanied by varying degrees of breast pain. Mild breast hyperplasia pain often manifests as bilateral breast pain, which is cyclical. The breasts are often swollen and painful before menstruation and slowly disappear after menstruation. The more severe the breast hyperplasia, the more obvious the breast pain, and it may even spread to the armpits. The pain becomes radiating and takes time to disappear after the menstruation ends. At this time, the symptoms of breast hyperplasia are already very serious, so you must seek medical attention in time.

7. Mastitis .

Acute mastitis and plasma cell mastitis are the most painful, but the pain feels different. Acute mastitis is a persistent tenderness that will develop into an abscess after a certain period of time, at which time throbbing pain will occur. Plasma cell mastitis is mainly characterized by local tingling and burning pain, and nipple fissures are very likely to occur, which will cause severe nipple pain.

8. Inflammatory breast cancer.

It is a type of breast cancer that causes breast tenderness and redness, swelling, and heat in the breast skin. Because the symptoms are the same as those of mastitis, it is easier to be misdiagnosed as mastitis, resulting in delayed treatment.
