Does a shorter menstrual cycle indicate aging?

Is women's aging really related to age? Recently, foreign scientists have studied a new topic, that is, whether menstruation is related to aging. The results of the experiment prove that menstruation does affect women's aging, so women must pay attention to menstruation issues! The normal menstrual cycle of women is about 30 days. For example, some women have menstruation every 20 days, which is completely abnormal!

When I was seeing patients in the outpatient clinic, I met many patients who came for treatment because their menstrual cycle was too short. Their menstrual cycles are regular, not long, and with moderate menstrual flow, but each cycle lasts only twenty-two or twenty-three days.

Although menstruation occurs once a month, and the average cycle is 28 days, a cycle of 21 to 35 days is considered normal and does not require special treatment. However, a patient once made a calculation for me that made it seem as if treatment could not be delayed. She said: Women are different from men. The number of eggs they release in their lifetime is fixed, about four hundred or so, and they are gone after they are released. Other people with long menstrual cycles produce one egg per month, while I have a short cycle, one week shorter each month. In a year, I produce 4 more eggs than others, which means 40 eggs in 10 years. This way, I will have to release all my eggs nearly 10 years earlier, and when I have released all my eggs, I will go through menopause, and I will be old!

It sounded like the calculation was correct, but in fact, her assumption from the beginning was wrong.

It is true that women are different from men. Men can continuously produce billions of sperm, while the number of eggs released by women in their lifetime is fixed. This is true.

However, it does not mean that the eggs are gone after they are released!

In fact, there are a large number of primordial follicles in the ovaries. Just like the youth league reserve, these primordial follicles are the reserve force of eggs. Although only one egg is released in each menstrual cycle, several follicles are actually recruited in each cycle. Among these recruited follicles, only one eventually becomes the dominant follicle, reaches maturity, and releases an egg, while the others degenerate on their own.

Therefore, although a woman will release more than 400 eggs in her lifetime, this only accounts for 0.1% of the total number of follicles.

Therefore, if your menstrual cycle is a few days shorter than others, you don't have to worry about premature aging. As mentioned before, everyone's luteal phase is fixed 14

A few days shorter cycle just means that the follicles mature faster. You may just lay dozens more eggs than others, but your ovaries still have this "foundation".

However, then again, although there are enough follicles for you to recruit in each cycle, the total number of follicles is determined when you are born. Unlike men's sperm, which can be produced continuously, it will only decrease and not increase.

From this point of view, eggs are much more valuable than sperm. And if for some reason, in 40

Before the age of 15, it will cause follicle depletion and ovarian failure, which is medically known as "premature ovarian failure." That is to say, there is a serious loss of reserve power for producing eggs. There is currently no good medical treatment for this type of infertility caused by premature ovarian failure.
