Areola reduction surgery is only suitable for these groups

Because some people are born with developmental disorders and physical defects, their nipples and areolas may appear larger than normal. This can be eliminated through surgery. This not only helps people get rid of their inferiority complex, but also improves their self-confidence. It is helpful for people to make friends, get married, and have children. This is how areola reduction surgery is done, and the process is very simple.

Surgical Procedure

Areola reduction is done by drawing a circle with an appropriate radius (usually 1.5-2.5cm) centered on the nipple. The circular areola skin outside this range should be excised, and the dermis and subcutaneous vascular network should be retained to prevent insufficient blood supply to the nipple and areola. A triangular piece of skin is cut off from the outer circle in the transverse direction to reduce the radius so that it is consistent with the radius of the new areola. Finally, the outer circle is slightly freed subcutaneously and then sutured in place.

Target Group

Men and women with enlarged areola;

Infection after nipple lift or necrosis of nipple due to blood circulation disorder and infection after inverted nipple, resulting in loss of areola;

Those who have undergone mastectomy due to burns, trauma or breast tumors;

Those who do not have an areola of corresponding size after sex change.

Precautions

Preoperative :

Routine physical examination to rule out major disease risks;

Keep the surgical site clean;

Maintain a comfortable mental state.

After surgery :

Take an appropriate amount of vitamin E after surgery. If the wound is found to be red and swollen or with a small amount of exudate, or if the skin becomes hard, physical therapy can be performed.

Sexual intercourse should be avoided within one week after surgery;

Be extremely careful with your breasts for the next month.

Surgical method

With the nipple as the center, draw a circle with an appropriate radius (generally 1.5-2.5cm) and excise the circular areola skin outside this range. The dermis and subcutaneous vascular network should be retained to prevent insufficient blood supply to the nipple and areola. A triangular piece of skin is excised inside and outside the outer circle in the horizontal direction to reduce the radius so that it is consistent with the radius of the new areola. Finally, the outer circle is slightly freed subcutaneously and then sutured in place. [1]

The surgery for areola reduction is relatively simple, and the surgical method can be a circumferential incision or a fan-shaped incision. Areola reduction surgery does not damage the nipple and breast tissue. The incision marks are left at the edge of the areola or inside the areola and are generally not obvious. After the operation, only gauze is needed to cover the area, no bandaging is required, and antibiotics are not required. The stitches can be removed 7-8 days after surgery.

1. Areola reduction surgery is performed under local anesthesia, using a circumferential incision or fan-shaped incision around the areola.

2. Areola reduction surgery takes the nipple as the center and draws a circle with an appropriate radius (usually 1.5~2.5cm). The circular areola skin outside this range is removed. The dermis and subcutaneous vascular network should be retained to prevent insufficient blood supply to the nipple and areola.

3. Cut off a triangular piece of skin inside and outside the transverse direction of the outer skin to reduce the radius so that it is consistent with the radius of the new areola.

4. Free the outer subcutaneous tissue slightly and then suture it in place. After the operation, only gauze is needed to cover the area, no bandaging is required, and antibiotics are not required. The stitches are removed 7 to 8 days after the operation.
