Can I eat breakfast while doing a mammography test?

Mammography, full name mammography X-ray examination, also known as molybdenum palladium examination, is the preferred, simplest and most reliable minimally invasive examination method for diagnosing breast diseases. It is relatively less painful, easy to perform, has high resolution, good repeatability, and the images taken can be used for comparison. It is not limited by age or body shape and has been used as a basic examination.

You can eat before having a mammogram. The actual effect of doing it in the morning and at noon is the same. Mammography is a procedure in which the breast is clamped on a molybdenum target pad to fix the breast and obtain a clear image, which can detect some tiny tumor buds that cannot be felt by hand.

1. Before the examination, do not apply any foundation, skin care products, deodorant or topical medicine on your chest, as these substances may interfere with the absorption of the X-rays or react with them.

2. All clothes and underwear should be removed during the examination, so it is best to wear soft open-necked clothes to facilitate the doctor's examination.

3. A routine physical examination requires four photographs, namely bilateral axial and unilateral lateral or oblique views.

4. During the inspection, use a breast straightening splint to gently pinch the breast to better expose most of the breast tissue.

5. Go to the Radiology Department with your payment receipt to get the results about an hour after the examination. Depending on the condition, the doctor may need to personally understand the condition in order to assist in the diagnosis.

6. Patients diagnosed with breast cancer should receive follow-up visits at any time to detect changes in the disease as early as possible and receive medication for treatment.
