What are the symptoms of gonorrhea in women?

Gonorrhea is a relatively common reproductive organ disease. If a female friend suffers from gonorrhea, there will be some more obvious symptoms, such as increased amount of vaginal discharge, thick vaginal discharge, congestion and swelling of the uterus, and the patient will have obvious discomfort. If female friends find such symptoms, they should seek medical attention and receive timely treatment.

1. Endometritis occurs after gonococcal infection , which increases the amount of leucorrhea, which becomes purulent or mucopurulent. The symptoms of gonorrhea are continuous outward discharge; the cervix becomes congested and swollen, and the vulva and vagina also have varying degrees of redness and swelling.

2. There are symptoms of acute urethritis , such as frequent urination and burning pain during urination; when you insert your fingers into the vagina and push outward from the front wall, purulent secretions can be discharged from the urethral opening. Symptoms of gonorrhea in women sometimes include periurethral abscesses.

3. Sometimes, female gonorrhea symptoms may develop into acute Bartholinitis , where a swollen mass can be felt behind one or both labia majora. The epidermis is red and swollen, and there is obvious tenderness. If an abscess is formed, the surface of the mass will fluctuate and the pain will become more severe.

4. When gonococcal infection spreads upward from the lower reproductive tract , in addition to causing acute endometritis, acute salpingitis, acute pelvic inflammatory disease or acute pelvic peritonitis may also occur. The symptoms of gonorrhea include varying degrees of abdominal pain, fever, leukocytosis, and excessive purulent leucorrhea. However, the symptoms of gonorrhea are much milder than those of acute pelvic inflammatory disease caused by general pyogenic bacteria.

5. In addition to urinary and reproductive tract infections , proctitis sometimes also occurs. Symptoms of gonorrhea include constipation, loose stools, and rectal bleeding. Acute gonorrhea can become chronic if it is not treated or if treatment is inadequate. The main symptoms of gonorrhea are dull pain in the lower abdomen and soreness in the lumbar region, which may occur repeatedly with acute attacks. Chronic gonococcal salpingitis can cause bilateral fallopian tube blockage and permanent infertility.
