Why do labia often break out?

Why do acne often occur on the labia? Some people often feel tingling or itching in their genitals, and when they observe, they find small pimples on their labia with red and swollen edges. Young women have a fast metabolism and may develop small acne-like bumps on their labia. Generally speaking, this is nothing to worry about as it is the result of excessive oil secretion in the patients. But there are some other factors as well, let’s take a look at them below.

What causes acne on labia?

First: Pseudo-condyloma. A benign papilloma disease that is not contagious. Symptoms include the appearance of smooth, pink papules on the inner side of the labia minora, which are clustered but not fused together, resembling caviar or small polyps. They sometimes itch but cause no other harm to the body. From a medical point of view, no special treatment is required for female pseudo-condyloma.

Second: Female genital warts. A highly contagious sexually transmitted disease caused by the human papillomavirus. The average incubation period of female genital warts is 2-3 months, and the symptoms are local itching and pain. It usually occurs in the vulva, vagina, cervix, and perianal area, and manifests locally as small reddish or gray papules that appear as wart-like protrusions.

Third: Genital herpes. It is a sexually transmitted disease caused by herpes simplex virus infection. The affected parts of the vulva, such as the labia majora and minora, clitoris, mons pubis, and cervix, first have a burning sensation, and then random papules, which are like small bumps, may appear in one or more clusters.
