Is endometrial thickness 4 normal?

Is endometrial thickness 4 normal?

The thickness of the endometrium is 4mm which is normal. In addition, you should understand that the endometrium of the uterus changes with the menstrual cycle. The specific situation is that during menstruation, the endometrium will shed functionally, and in the proliferative phase it will thicken to about 1 to 3 centimeters. In the secretory phase, the thickness of the uterus will reach 5 to 7 centimeters. The thickness of the endometrium is four centimeters, which is a relatively normal situation.

What is the normal thickness of the endometrium?

If the endometrium is thick, menstruation is likely to be very painful and the fertilized egg is not easy to implant! That is, the endometrium is thicker than normal. The thickness of the endometrium cannot determine whether you can get pregnant. Whether or not you ovulate is the key to whether you can get pregnant. The normal range is 0.2-1.0 cm.

The thickness of the endometrium changes cyclically.

1. Proliferative phase: During the ovarian cycle, when the follicles in the ovaries develop and mature, the endometrium proliferates under the action of estrogen secreted by the ovaries, which is called proliferative endometrium;

2. Secretory phase: After ovulation, the corpus luteum of the ovary secretes progesterone and estrogen, which causes the proliferating endometrium to secrete, i.e., secretory phase endometrium.

3 Menstrual period: After the corpus luteum in the ovary degenerates, due to the decrease in the amount of estrogen and progesterone, the endometrium loses its support and becomes necrotic and exfoliated, which manifests as menstruation. This period is called the menstrual endometrium.

Changes in the endometrium during different periods of life

Proliferative phase: approximately from the 5th to the 9th day of the menstrual cycle, the endometrium is very thin, the glands are sparse, the glandular ducts are narrow and straight, and the glandular cavity surface is flat.

During the 10th to 14th day of the menstrual cycle, the endometrium becomes thicker and wavy, the glands and stroma proliferate significantly, and the number of glands begins to increase.

Secretory phase: From the 15th to the 19th day of the menstrual cycle, which is 1 to 5 days after ovulation, the endometrium continues to thicken and the glands further increase in size and curvature.

Around the 20th to 24th day of the menstrual cycle, which is 6 to 10 days after ovulation, the endometrium shows a high degree of secretory activity, and the curvature and expansion of the glands reach a peak.

In the late secretory phase, the thickness of the endometrium is about 5 to 6 mm.
