How to treat itching down there in girls?

If a woman feels itchy down there, she must be vigilant, as it may be caused by some problems, such as fungal vulvitis or vaginal inflammation. In addition, if there is burning pain or edema after examination, she must go to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible.

1) Fungal vulvitis and vaginitis. Common symptoms include vulvar itching, burning sensation, redness and edema of the vulvar skin; in severe cases, blisters, papules, pustules or eczema-like erosions may occur, and even ulcers and vulvar pain may occur.

2) Vaginal trichomoniasis. Typical symptoms are itching of the vulva and vagina, foamy leucorrhea, often accompanied by a peculiar odor, and eczematous changes in the vulva after scratching. A vaginal smear test can be used to distinguish it from other diseases.

3) Acute and chronic vulvar eczema. Acute phase: The vulva is extremely itchy, the local skin turns red, blisters cluster together, and yellow water drips, often accompanied by symptoms such as erosion, scabs, and suppuration. Chronic stage: Vulvar eczema does not heal over time and turns into a chronic stage; vulvar itching occurs sometimes and sometimes not, sometimes mild and sometimes severe, and the skin becomes dark red, thickened, rough or watery.

4) Leukoplakia of the vulva. Also known as leukoplakia vulvae. Symptoms include vulvar itching, sometimes with burning and pain. The vulva skin is rough, lichenified, scratched, and even slightly atrophied; there is local hypopigmentation, and the labia majora and labia minora generally turn white.

5) Sexually transmitted virus infection. Such as genital warts and genital herpes. Molluscum contagiosum occurring in the vulva often presents as round papules with an umbilical-like depression in the center, which can cause itching in the vulva. Genital herpes is often manifested by the appearance of bright, rice-sized blisters on the urethral opening and vaginal wall, accompanied by local itching.

6) Pubic lice: Pubic lice often lie on the surface of the vulvar skin or attach to the roots of pubic hair. The bites of pubic lice and their venom and excrement can cause itching of the vulvar skin, which may be mild or severe, and may cause desquamation, and may lead to eczematous changes and folliculitis.

7) Pinworm and scabies infection: When the anus relaxes at night, pinworms crawl out of the rectum and swim to the vulva to mate and lay eggs, irritating the skin and mucous membranes of the vulva, causing local itching. When infected with scabies, the external skin lesions are severe and local itching is obvious.
