Will pelvic effusion cause infertility?

Gynecological diseases in women are very common and multiple, which is determined by the special physiological structure of women. There are many types of gynecological inflammation, including vaginitis, cervicitis, adnexitis, pelvic inflammatory disease and pelvic effusion. Among them, there are many patients with pelvic effusion. A small amount of pelvic effusion does not require treatment, but anti-inflammatory treatment is required in severe cases, otherwise it will lead to infertility.

Can pelvic effusion cause infertility?

1. Women with pelvic effusion may be caused by chronic infection lesions, such as inflammation of the gynecological system, ovaries, and fallopian tubes. It may also be caused by tuberculosis or tumors. These diseases will affect fertility if left untreated for a long time.

2. Pelvic effusion can easily lead to pelvic adhesions, fallopian tube obstruction, etc., which can cause infertility. If you usually have lower abdominal pain, lumbosacral pain, increased vaginal discharge, lower abdominal tenderness, cord-like thickening during gynecological examination, etc., you may be suffering from chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, which requires active treatment to prevent worsening inflammation and increased fluid accumulation.

3. Most pelvic effusions are caused by inflammation, that is, exudation from chronic pelvic inflammation. A few are caused by ruptured ectopic pregnancy, corpus luteum rupture, pelvic abscess, chocolate cyst, and ovarian cancer. These inflammations can also affect the combination of sperm and egg and affect pregnancy.
