How to regulate prolonged menstruation after childbirth?

If the menstruation has not fully started after giving birth, then the agreed time will be long and become very irregular. So don’t worry too much. Reasonable adjustment is very important. At the beginning, pay attention to eating some lighter foods. Also, you can use motherwort juice to cook porridge, or make liver-clearing and menstruation-regulating soup. The main function is to adjust the menstrual regularity and prevent long-term menstrual disorders, as well as symptoms such as breast pain and heavy menstrual bleeding.

What should I eat to treat irregular menstruation? During menstruation, the diet should be light, easily digestible and nutritious. For women with irregular menstruation, they can eat some menstruation-regulating medicinal foods during their menstrual period, such as motherwort juice porridge, liver-clearing and menstruation-regulating soup, cold-mixed amaranth, and fermented black bean and mutton soup.

1. Motherwort juice porridge

Prepare 10 grams of fresh motherwort juice, 40 grams each of fresh Rehmannia juice and fresh lotus root juice, appropriate amounts of ginger juice and honey, and 100 grams of rice. Cook rice into porridge. When the rice is cooked, add the above-mentioned medicinal juices and honey and cook it into a thin porridge.

Main effects: nourishing yin and blood, regulating menstruation and removing blood stasis, quenching thirst and relieving restlessness. It is suitable for women with irregular menstruation, functional uterine bleeding, postpartum blood loss, lochia, abdominal pain due to blood stasis, etc. It is better to use a sand pot instead of an iron pot. It is not recommended for patients with spleen deficiency and diarrhea. Do not add onions or leeks when consuming this medicinal food.

2. Qinggan Tiaojing Decoction

Prepare 12 grams of Uncaria rhynchophylla, 10 grams of fried Cortex Moutan, 9 grams of fried Gardenia, 12 grams each of red and white Peony Root, 10 grams of charred Crataegus pinnatifida, 10 grams of Aconiti Lateralis Preparata, 6 grams of fried Pollen Typhae (wrapped and decocted), 12 grams of fried Dipsacus asper, 10 grams of Poria, 5 grams of fried Bupleurum, and 15 grams of Leonurus japonicus.

Main effects: It can clear the liver and relieve depression, remove blood stasis and regulate menstruation. It can treat early menstruation, excessive menstrual flow, premenstrual breast pain, and excessive blood clots during menstruation. This prescription must be taken during menstruation to be more effective.
