Why do pregnant women always hiccup?

Pregnant women always hiccup, which I believe is a very troubling phenomenon for many pregnant mothers. In fact, frequent hiccups are closely related to changes in gastrointestinal function. For example, bloating can easily cause hiccups in pregnant women. Therefore, you should also understand some effective relief methods and avoid eating foods that cause bloating.

1. Many reactions during pregnancy are annoying to pregnant mothers, such as bloating and hiccups, which are uncomfortable and embarrassing reactions. Therefore, pregnant mothers should pay more attention to their diet and never eat too much food at once, or suddenly change their eating habits and quantity, which can easily cause gastrointestinal changes and lead to bloating and hiccups.

2. In the early stages of pregnancy, due to hormonal changes in the body, the stomach's ability to excrete acid is poor, stomach acid is relatively high, intestinal motility is slow, and excessive gas is produced; in the middle and late stages of pregnancy, the uterus slowly expands, and after 5 months of pregnancy it will exceed the navel. All the intestines will be squeezed to the top and left and right sides of the stomach, and the entire space is occupied by the uterus, so it is easy to compress the large and small intestines, and the motility will also deteriorate. These are the reasons why pregnant women hiccup. In the late pregnancy, the pregnant mother will feel more comfortable after the uterus descends and the fetal head enters the pelvis.

3. During pregnancy, gastric acid secretion decreases, gastrointestinal motility weakens, and hiccups occur due to varying degrees of digestive dysfunction.

4. In the late pregnancy, as the fetus and uterus gradually grow larger, the diaphragm rises and hiccups occur.

5. Other digestive system diseases cannot be ruled out. It is recommended to go to the hospital's obstetrics department in time for a detailed examination and symptomatic treatment.
