What are the female infertility examination items?

Ladies, please take note. If you are experiencing infertility, first of all, don’t be too anxious. Be sure to adjust your mindset and then go to the hospital for a detailed examination, such as hormone testing, fallopian tube testing, ultrasound testing, thyroid function testing, etc.

1. Hormone test (menstrual period)

Examination method/purpose: Collect blood samples and measure the values of FSH, LH and prolactin. Check whether hormone secretion is abnormal.

Examination time: during menstruation.

Examination results: Find out whether there is ovulation disorder, polycystic ovary syndrome, and hyperprolactinemia.

2. Hysterosalpingography

Examination method/purpose: A catheter is inserted into the vagina, contrast medium is injected, and then an X-ray is taken. Check the shape of the uterus and the proliferation of the fallopian tubes.

Examination time: during the follicular phase (within 5 days after the end of menstruation).

Examination results: Understand the size and shape of the uterus and the normal condition of the fallopian tubes. It can see parts that cannot be captured by X-rays, such as whether the fallopian tubes have hyperplasia, blockage, etc.

3. Hormone test (follicular phase)

Examination method/purpose: After collecting blood samples, the value of follicle-stimulating hormone is measured. Check for abnormalities in hormone secretion.

Examination time: During the follicular phase.

Examination results: Understand the ovulation status and corpus luteum function.

4. Ultrasound examination

Examination results: Check whether the corpus luteum function is complete.

Inspection time: any time.

Examination results: Detect whether there are symptoms such as hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism. And find out whether there is ovulation disorder, implantation disorder and hyperprolactinemia.
