What to do if you have an ectopic pregnancy

If an ectopic pregnancy occurs, we need to pay attention to scientific treatment and coping solutions to reduce the various hazards caused by ectopic pregnancy as much as possible. Especially after pregnancy, we must go to the hospital for examination to rule out ectopic pregnancy, and even if it is an ectopic pregnancy, we must follow the doctor's treatment advice.

1. If you suspect an ectopic pregnancy, you should go to the hospital for treatment immediately. Avoid activity and lie down. Emergency laparotomy is usually done.

2. Before the ambulance arrives, you should keep your head down, feet high, and stay quiet to prevent bleeding, because bleeding can cause and. It is also important to keep warm with products such as blankets.

3. If the patient is far away from the hospital, blood volume can be replenished before transportation according to conditions, or hemostatic drugs can be used as appropriate.

4. Under normal circumstances, when the embryo is implanted in the uterine cavity after a woman becomes pregnant, it is called an intrauterine pregnancy. If it is implanted somewhere outside the uterine cavity, it is called an ectopic pregnancy, which is also called ectopic pregnancy in medicine. The most common site of ectopic pregnancy is the fallopian tube, and a few can also be seen in the ovaries, cervix, etc. If the surviving fertilized egg in a fallopian tube pregnancy falls off into the abdominal cavity and occasionally continues to grow on the abdominal organs such as the greater omentum, an abdominal pregnancy is formed. If the fertilized egg implanted in the fallopian tube separates from the tube wall and flows into the abdominal cavity, it will cause tubal pregnancy abortion. If the villi of the fertilized egg penetrate the tube wall and rupture, it will cause tubal pregnancy rupture. Both can cause intra-abdominal bleeding, but the latter is more serious, often leading to shock due to massive internal bleeding, and even life-threatening.

5. When a woman has an ectopic pregnancy, in the early stages she may experience the same symptoms as early pregnancy, with some early pregnancy reactions such as amenorrhea and nausea, but she may also experience abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding. This requires more attention and caution. As the fetus grows, the fallopian tube will rupture and cause heavy bleeding. It not only threatens the fetus, but more importantly, the life of the mother. Prompt treatment is necessary, usually requiring surgery.
