Light brown bleeding during early pregnancy

Light brown bleeding during early pregnancy

The early stages of pregnancy are a relatively sensitive period, during which various changes may occur in the pregnant woman's body. Some expectant mothers will experience bleeding in the early stages of pregnancy, which is also called early pregnancy spotting. The bleeding is very small and the color is dark brown. So, what causes this situation?

What are the causes of dark brown bleeding in early pregnancy?

In the early stages of pregnancy, the fertilized egg is not stable when it implants. When the pregnant mother suffers from a chronic disease, or has congenital or acquired growth and development abnormalities in the uterus, problems with the human immune system, viral infections, or is overworked, has too much work pressure, has too intense sexual intercourse, is affected by external forces, takes medication improperly, etc., miscarriage may occur. When a pregnant woman has a miscarriage, it can cause vaginal bleeding.

There are three main reasons for early pregnancy bleeding:

1. Cervical disease

If a pregnant woman has cervical disease causing erosion before pregnancy, or has existing cervical cysts, then during pregnancy it is very likely that changes in growth hormone will cause the surface capillaries to rupture and bleed. Therefore, if a pregnant woman has vaginal bleeding in early pregnancy, a cervical examination should be performed.

2. Ectopic pregnancy

Ectopic pregnancy can also cause bleeding in the early stages of pregnancy, because the embryo implants outside the uterus and cannot provide sufficient nutrients to the embryo, causing the slowly growing sperm and egg to combine and cause the walls of the fallopian tubes to swell, which can lead to wall ruptures. Bleeding caused by ectopic pregnancy usually occurs at 7-8 weeks of pregnancy, accompanied by severe abdominal pain or intra-abdominal bleeding.

3. Hydatidiform mole

Pregnant women with hydatidiform mole may also experience pregnancy bleeding, accompanied by severe morning sickness or symptoms such as palpitations. Women who are under 20 or over 35, who have a history of miscarriage or hydatidiform mole, etc. should be careful about whether they will have a hydatidiform mole again.

However, not all bleeding means that this disease will occur. If the bleeding is not continuous and the blood is dark brown, there is no need to worry too much about this situation. Just rest under the guidance of a doctor!
